AJ will not win the Heisman. It would take not only 'Bama winning out with AJ being the obvious MVP against both Auburn and in the SECCG, but Winston would have to throw nothing but interceptions in a herp derp loss to Florida
quote:don't give two shits about this
we'd be ridiculed by the SECr for having another weak Heisman winner, and told that the Heisman is meaningless.

Too bad it's amounted to nothing but a Heisman trophy and a page in that record book, though, eh?

Which SEC team(s) this year could AJ lead to Atlanta besides Alabama? Take into consideration WR corp and defense.
LSU
Auburn
Missouri
Mizzou might get there anyway.

To be fair, AJ is gonna have a lot of records too.
Best Attempt:INT ratio of all time.
Might have the best TD:INT ratio of all time, I don't know.
SEC best win %
Most National Titles as a starter
Don't get me wrong, JFF is certainly a more impressive player when you watch him. He's the better talent. I just think there are some things that AJ has a leg up on.

More like DBag!!
Bah. I can't even make good jokes. I'll just check out of here until I've gotten something to eat and feel better.

He could damn well have Florida St. undefeated.
With Floridas defense he could lead them to Atlanta, but probably not with all the injuries.
I think he would have USCe undefeated, Tenn. wouldnt have won if Shaw didn't get injured.
He would have Mizzou undefeated.
He might of lead LSU to Atlanta with those W.R.s , I don't think he thows 3 picks vs. Ole Miss. and he could have beat UGA on the final drive ( proven he can do it before. )
QB is much more mental than most people think, AJ sees the field so well.

And JFFs 2 interceptions cost TAMU the game vs. Bama and his mistakes vs. Auburn opened the door to a come back.
JFF is great , but I would rather have consistency.

Again, JFF's not the reason we lost to Bama. He's the reason we didn't lose by 40.
JFF's mistakes didn't open the door for an AU comeback. His shoulder injury did.

In the end I think the VT game tanked his stats far too much for him to have a real shot at winning. I would like to see him invited to NYC though.

Hell, VT might be the biggest monkeywrench going. Aren't they posed for the ACC championship?

I just googled. VT has the H2H over GT and can go to ACC CG with a win out.

"The Heisman Memorial Trophy Award (usually known colloquially as the Heisman Trophy or the Heisman), is awarded annually to the most outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work."
Sounds like AJ to me. A guy willing to to whatever it takes to lead his team to victory of which he's done time and time again.
McCarron became the first quarterback to win back-to-back consensus national championships in the BCS era. McCarron is one of only seven quarterbacks in history to win back-to-back titles in some form and the first quarterback to win back-to-back consensus titles since Nebraska's Tommie Frazier in 1994 and 1995.In addition, since his freshman/redshirt year McCarron has been associated with three national title teams under coach Nick Saban: 2009, 2011, and 2012.
And he is smashing records at Alabama and is poised to win a 3rd straight title.
AJ deserves to be in NYC and if he doesn't win he should at the very least get a respectable amount of the vote.

What makes you think the other candidates don't or aren't willing to do whatever it takes to win?
Hell, JFF separated his shoulder against AU but refused to sit more than two drives.

I would probably go full gump on this board if VT beat FSU in the ACC CG

That would be kinda humorous....but I'm not seeing it. Who knows though?

CJ Mosely is the best player on Alabama's team. That dude makes nearly every tackle - calls all the defense plays. AJ played average against LSU - Mosely played lights out. If I could have one player on UA's team - "not play" against Auburn - it would be CJ Mosely. Mosely is the best LB in football. AJ is about 15th best QB.
