From morons who know nothing about football. Attributing wins to QBs only is lowest common denominator level thinking.

It isn't attributed ONLY to QBs, but to act like AJ having the winning percentage he does isn't impressive for him because it is a "team stat" is silly.

NCAA Pass Efficiency Defense thru 11/9:

Rankings

14 Alabama
27 Auburn
57 LSU
75 A&M

So, AJ's Pass efficiency in the games you are touting is against
#57 LSU and #75 A&M.

Manziel's is against #14 Bama and #27 Auburn. Those two team are ranked as high as they are in spite of given up the following:

Manziel against Bama 28-39-2 464 yds 5TD's
yardage is 3 times what Bama is giving up to the rest of their opponents.

Manziel against Auburn 30-42-2 469 yds 4TD's
yardage is 2.44 times what Auburn is giving up to the rest of their opponents.

Something tells me McCarren's total stats against his ranked opponents will not begin to measure up to Manziel's

Hell, If not for playing Manziel, Bama might have the top pass efficiency defense in the country.

Why use pass efficiency defense and not where they rank in terms of number of INTs, when that is what y'all were really talking about? I'm pretty sure Manziel's would still be more impressive, just an observation though.

I'd vote for Nick Marshall over him.

The Heisman criteria does not reference "best player", but the outstanding player exhibiting the qualities of talent, diligence, perseverence and hard work.

In other words: AJ

Hell you guys have to admit it might be fun to see Mom's Heisman quality cleavage in New York

He put the team on his back and won a shootout with Johnny Football.

He played an embarrassingly bad defense.

This is like saying A.J. deserves credit for beating an old midget in 1 on 1 while JFF lost to Lebron.

Get fricking real, man.

I love all these arguments along the lines of

"You stinkin' Bammers! AJ doesn't deserve the Heisman because WE SUCK SO MUCH!!!"

He is the best QB in the nation in the last 2 years, 49 TDS 6 ints.

We could score 20 to 30 more points a game on all but 2 or 3 teams every year but we choose not to while other teams score 60 or 70.

We run less plays by design also, more plays, more stats.

This is a great difference maker.

ESPN QB ratings for 2012 had AJ at number 1.

In crunch time last year he made a last minute drive with ribs that were killing him , ( Miss. St. injury ) thats why AJ was crying, he was in excruciating pain and no one knew untill after the season.

He sucked it up on the last drive.

He has lost 2 games, one in OT to a 13-1 LSU and another to Texas A&M when the coaches could have won by running 4 times from the 6 yard line.

Stats don't mean shyt , in total , to me.Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round also, no arm, not good enough, so the scouts sad....... But like AJ, Brady was cocky and supremely confident in his ability.

AJ is the best college QB since 2012 IMO.

Which SEC team(s) this year could AJ lead to Atlanta besides Alabama? Take into consideration WR corp and defense.

AJ will not win the Heisman. It would take not only 'Bama winning out with AJ being the obvious MVP against both Auburn and in the SECCG, but Winston would have to throw nothing but interceptions in a herp derp loss to Florida, and even then we'd be ridiculed by the SECr for having another weak Heisman winner, and told that the Heisman is meaningless.

Book that shite.

Why? If Manziel had his heisman moment last year because of a particular win then we aren't going to hold losses against him?

We didn't lose because of JFF.

He's the reason we didn't lose by 40.

When you score 42 points in a game, you necessarily can't place the loss at the feet of the QB who accounted for nearly 600 yards and 5 TDs.

HTH.

Winston, Manziel and Petty all sustain season ending injuries this week.
Then, he should at least get invited to ceremony

I think AJ might get an invite one way or the other, but it'll just be to watch the winner give his speech from the peanut gallery with the other runners up.

Trust me, I hate making it--mainly because I know with even the most marginal defense we roll both Bama and AU.

But that doesn't mean the argument doesn't hold. It does.

And I hope the fact that you don't have anything closely resembling a marginal defense and that you didn't roll shite eats at you. For a very, very long time.

It will. Our defensive recruiting from 2009-11 resulted in the squandering of one of the best players in CFB history.

It's tough to swallow.

But we're addressing it in a very direct and substantial way in recruiting. So that softens the blow (some).

JFF owns the SEC record book already.

JFF has the highest opponent adjusted QB rating of any college QB of the last 10 years who played at least 1000 plays.
