He's been an overqualified game manager for a ton of games. The kid has real talent, and he could have a successful NFL career if he has a few years to develop in a league where passing is the first option and not primarily a change of pace and play-action tool.

He's managed his way into 2 national championships. I wish he would manage games for my team.

Manziel is better, obviously. If h had the personnel McCarron has, ATM would have won a couple too.

Dude threw a 99-yard TD pass on a fricking play action out of his own end zone for the go ahead score late in the 4th quarter against the most hostile crowd imaginable.
Good throw but that was more on auburn's shite secondary.

You are an absolute goddamn dumbass if you don't understand the poise and sheer balls it takes to carry out the play action, settle into a pocket, and deliver in that situation.
Like lsu's true freshman did last sat. Come on.

"13 of 14 QB's have offensive lines that get away with holding less than AJ McCarron"
I kid
I kid

Not only that, AJ's stats in 3 games against Auburn are downright dominant.
Nick should put him on the punt team

I thought AJ was a stick and not durable?

Mc Carron has had good to very good pass protection most of the time.
He moves around in the pocket well and has been coached to throw the ball away or get down when a sack is imminent.
When he runs he either slides or gets out of bounds.
Pretty much what an NFL QB does.

This. Easy to escape injury when the rules don't apply to your O Line

You should not be so insecure.

One thing I thought about on the FG return..its a what if but what if that had been Foster kicking instead of Griffin. Foster does the kicking off and has made several tackles in his career playing like a safety vs kick off return men.
Griffin is a small guy Foster is a LB type. Felt sorry for the guy and the night he had.

He was as impressive in the pocket last Saturday as I have ever seen him. Escaped quite a few pocket collapses. He is very instinctual.
I have said before I personally believe AJ has the potential to be the best QB Saban has had...as far as the next level is concerned.

At the next level he can succeed, but not if he is immediately thrown into a bad situation with no proven WRs, a bad running game, shitty pas pro, etc.

And I thought this thread was started by AJ's girlfriend...
