Did you find yourself feeling a bit of SEC SEC SEC pride whatsoever? If yes (which I did), can you articulate why it may have felt different than KU's in 2008?

I didn't watch the 2nd half as it was clear who was going to win. I felt no real feelings towards Kentucky winning, but I suppose I was glad Kansas didn't win, the trash talk to Mizzou would have been at very high levels if they had.

But as far as comparing that to Kansas, no one in the Big 12 likes each other. The only reason you've heard "Big 12" chants this year is because of this whole realignment bad blood, once the dust settles next season they'll all hate each other again.

I have a 'frick the big 12' mentality and certainly was cheering for Kentucky. Sure, I was happy for them and for the SEC since we will be members, but its hard to take pride in something you haven't played against yet and fully appreciated from a competition standpoint.

With that said, Congrats Cats. Glad the beaker trash didn't win it all.

I didn't watch the game but was pulling for UK all the way ... I can honestly say that I do not remember ever pulling for another Big 12 team in anything ever.

You're probably going to get a more spirited response from Mizzou fans, who HATE Kansas.

Ya but then again I feel like you've had the queer kU logo next to your name for the entire basketball season. Either way I was extremely glad I don't have to hear it from kU fans until next bball season, because god knows they will probably be defeated in conference play this year in football.

Happy kU did not win. Idk if it had anything to do with SEC pride since we haven't played ball yet in the SEC, but I was cheering for Kentucky.

Fair enough, you sound like a Nebraska football fan though. "I'm a huge Nebraska fan, until basketball season rolls around then I'm all in on kU!!!" Either way I feel like LSU should be able to field a quality squad again soon, they do have another black Irish on their team, and that worked out well last time

The Big 12 has a conference-first mentality, but not the same as the SEC. In the big 12, "conference first" means that KU has to win all basketball championships, and the fricking longhorns have to win all football when OU is not winning. The entire league, all the way down to the refs on the field, will manipulate to keep the fricking longhorns and OU on top in Football, and KU on top in Basketball.

The former conference commissioner, Dan Beebe even admitted the same. Longhorns the Key to Big 12

Was happy for Kentucky.

Then I read the stat that said "Since '05, the SEC has 12/20 CFB/BB/Baseball Championships; no other conference has more than two"

and I went

Plus I've been to Lawrence for both Basketball and Football. Their women are counts as are half of their men.

Honestly, I was ecstatic. I would've had to put up with kU's shite for the next year if they had won. Plus I had reason to be pulling for UK since they are SEC.

Because kU fricking sucks.
