If there was an argument for a different team to jump at the time, maybe. But that’s not what happened. A&M was consistent at #5. No other team deserved it. The 4th spot went to the team that just lost.

I know. I’m not sure why we would go after him. He hasn’t really done anything without short legs at QB.

Wasn't a&m's single best victory at home against a 4-loss Florida team that was blown out in their bowl game?

Florida went to the SEC champ game.
Florida was ranked 7th or 6th in each of the CFP weekly rankings leading up to it.

A&M was ranked #5 in each CFP weekly ranking.

No other teams had a better case.

They were 10-1 with two ranked wins.

You were 8-1 with one ranked win.

They only dropped to #4 because they had the better resume, you stayed at #5 because you were at home.

At best, you could make the argument that they were equal teams, it definitely wasn't a robbery though.

It’s a very easy argument that the team that just lost gets left out.

The most recent loss having more significance than the early season loss.

Georgia just proved it.

Only if there are teams with better resumes.

There just weren't in 2020, Florida lost the SECCG and still stayed at #7, for example.

If you're using this year as an argument. A&M would basically be Ohio State this year. One regular season loss and sitting at home on conference championship weekend, they actually dropped a spot.

The reason Ohio State was jumped this year was because Texas jumped them.

In 2020 there was no such team to jump A&M.

Exactly, otherwise they stay ranked the same, just like 2020 A&M did.

Also comparable to 2021 when Georgia lost the SECCG yet still went to the playoff over 1 loss Notre Dame.

You are forgetting that Georgia fell out of the top 4

That’s why arguments are made. There isn’t consistency. Teams that have valid arguments make them.

Yes, because they were passed up by other conference champions.

2020 A&M was not a conference champion.

The sitting at home argument doesn’t hold up over time, when:

2016 Ohio State made the playoff despite sitting at home during conf. champ game

2017 Alabama made the playoff despite sitting at home during conf. champ game

Every other team had 2 losses.

They had more ranked wins than the other one loss team (Wisconsin).

2020 A&M had less ranked wins AND no conference championship appearance vs 2020 Notre Dame.

2017 Wisconsin has a better case for being robbed than 2020 A&M.

It’s crazy he took the interview and got a call with a raise and extension hours after from BK. Ouch!
