Good to see the Ags still own big real estate in Sao's tiny dome.

Ah, but it IS a stretch, no?

A&M will never be a quaint little cow college again. That is a very good thing for the university's long term success. Losing that unique feel is tough to watch, but ineluctable given A&M's long term aims of being a major player in every facet of academia and college athletics.

Ill agree with that.

Isn't the game in College Station? How can one annex something they're not going to?

It doesn't matter. We are still going to annex Gainesville regardless. Whoop!

T-Dog, this billboard was not put up by an Aggie. Quit being stupid.

Ohhhh. . . Ok, I get it -

You're saying UT has some sort of Red Elephant Club-like operation who's primary objective is to make A&M look like idiots - that makes perfect sense

This whole deal reminds me of the wife/girlfriend who wakes up in the morning all pissy after having a dream that her husband/boyfriend cheated on her; when in reality, he didn't.

It says in the article aTm did not post the billboard, so why the OP title. It's misleading.

Seems more like something a Baylor fan might do. If it was a t.u. fan then we've really gotten under their skin.

Aggie Nation. LOL!

No way in hell anything holds up in court. They made it ambiguous enough to get away with it. Also, y'all all have said Aggie Nation is never used by anyone affiliated with the school, so I doubt it has been trademarked.

I wasn't referring to "Aggie Nation" but other aspects of the billboard that may be trademarked.

Eta: do you even know what libel is?

It wouldn't be libel in the truest sense, but the purpose of the writing on the billboard is to damage our brand, by stating claims that either aren't true or aren't endorsed by the university, while intentionally suggesting that the billboard is endorsed by Texas A&M for the same purpose. It's not a clear cut case, but I think it still applies. I'm not a lawyer though, so any of you that is feel free to state otherwise.

Actually seems like something an Aggie would do.

You've done it in Waco... who's obsessed with whom?

While it does seem like a troll billboard WTF are you talking about with this lawsuit crap?

We don't own the term Aggie and there is nothing libelous on that board.

Actually, Texas A&M University does own the rights to Aggie within the state of Texas (I have my very own cease & desist letter regarding the matter); but since this board went up in Florida, it's a moot point.

That's not the issue here. The issue is there's been a formal declaration of annexation of a city in Florida. Clearly whoever did this was unauthorized to do so, but since it's been made, I say that the winner of the game has the right to pillage and plunder the other's city as they see fit.
