Well everyone told us the SEC would kill us so we planned cupcakes to make bowls.
It wasn't until we played that we learned that the SEC, full of old man football, is a relative breeze and we need better OOC games.
You can't turn these things on a dime.

If you are in the west, you are already obligated to play 3 of the best teams in the country year in/out. Add to that the good chances of playing another top 10 team as a cross division opponent (SCAR for TAMU), why do you need to schedule anything but cupcakes for OOC?
SEC teams are the only ones with the luxury of not having to prove anything OOC in order to go to the Natty, and with our donors, we don't need the money.

Because nobody wants to dedicate a weekend to travel to College Station to watch a game against SHSU? (Except they did and they still will. It still sucks, though.) That's one reason. Another is cranking up the SOS for a playoff spot.

We were supposed to have home and home with USCw coming up. Not sure what happened there. Its been said a million times but we joined the sec and had arkansas scheduled as ooc. Its hard to schedule games against quality teams on short notice.

Actually I'd take last year's SMU over this year's TCU. Or did you mean Furman?
