His freshman season was derailed by injury so we cannot really judge his performance.

Good runner, slight frame, poor mechanics, noodle arm. I like him.

Wasn't he completing passes to the other team alot before he got injured?

I can understand why since that is the prototype Texas QB.

He’s put on some good weight this off-season. He’s still not big enough not to slide though imo. Unless you’re a cam newton or Tebow you aren’t going to be able to lower the shoulder vs SEC defenses. See Calzada vs Auburn. Popped that shoulder right out of socket and had to have surgery in off season.

Haynes has all the talent and tools to be a really good QB. He’s one of the fastest guys on the team. His decision making and accuracy will determine whether he can win the starting job and/or be successful this season.

Yes. We’re doomed at QB. If you lose to us this year your team truly sucks.

Runs + scrambles + sacks ~ 15 times/game = not good

Unfortunately I don’t think he was completing passes to anyone on any team, so I’m scared

Saw King play a game in HS against an option team that barely threw the ball. The QB for the option team outplayed King on the ground and through the air. Least impressive big time recruit I’ve ever seen play in any HS sport

I for one hope Conner Weigman starts.

Me too. Weigman is our best hope for the future and I would rather he get his lumps in early but Jimbo will start with King.

Regarding size and ability, KJ falls into that group so there is no need to take his comment as a slight. Win a championship or Heisman and he gets named specifically along with those two when these conversations take place in the future.

King would have a chance if he had a coach who was better at developing quarterbacks.

I'd move him to Safety.
