All of my Aggie buddies are saying this but I don't want to ask them because they talk enough anyways
Just curious what exactly has to happen for them to go bcs?

Win out and you never know what will happen above us.. Your friends need to STFU and go one game at a time though.. Tell them I SAID SO.

Probably just LSU and Florida losses, combined with SEC champion Bama in the Sugar
Posted on 11/11/12 at 4:54 pm to dallastiger55
they are 3rd in line behind UF and LSU

Dude y'all play Sam Houston and Mizzou.
a high school team could win the last two

lol tamu will not go to a BCS if Bama, Lsu wins out and UGA lose in the SECCG

Only two can go. The ATL winner is automatic leaving 5 other clubs in the mix. Anything is possible, just not likely.

I'd say that's doubtful. They won't be in the championship game, and they will have 2 losses, at least. Don't see that happening this year. But you never know.

They really just need Florida to lose to Florida State...then they are in the mix against LSU
And believe me, I can't wait for LSU to see that bowl committees will forever ride TAMU's deek .... see cotton bowl 2010, or any other bowl ever

They would need 2 uga loses, LSU to lose again, and Florida to lose again.
Not impossible, just doubtful.

A&M won't go BCS. Pretty doubtful the SEC will have a team in the BCSNCG, and that would be the only way, but even then probably wouldn't happen.
I don't think anyone wants to play Aggie right now. Different team than the one UF beat early on.

If Florida loses to Florida State, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see A&M get a BCS bid over LSU especially if it's a non-Sugar Bowl bid. A&M certainly brings more excitement this season.

honestly, if Bama wins out and goes Sugar/BCSNC and UF loses to FSU, I think we're in play.
No bowl wants to take a team coming off a loss (UGA/Bama, UF) which would leave 3 teams - LSU, USCe, A&M. LSU will be ranked higher by a spot which makes them most likely but I think the excitement in general around A&M is appealing to bowls so I wouldn't rule it out.
Btw, assuming KSU-Ore MNC, the likely destination for SEC #2 is Fiesta vs ND. Whoever gets that spot should consider themselves very very lucky bc it's a high profile game against a team any of us can beat imo

uhm Even if uf lose...tamu is still behind bama/uga/lsu if sec gets left out of NC game

Just like Bama could beat an NFL team.

well, bama and uga play so i'm not sure how we'd be behind both (we'll def pass the loser just due to timing of losses). It's really between LSU and A&M for the 2nd BCS spot if UF loses imo.

Same situation that has LSU possibly going. LSU has the head-to-head matchup in their favor, but A&M is playing as well as anyone right now and financially, A&M would be a smart pick for a BCS bowl. Between the excitement around the program right now and A&M's long drought since being in a big bowl, the fans would travel extremely well.
Not saying it will happen, but it's up to the bowl selection committee, and they don't necessarily go strictly by division rankings.

We sold 40k advance tickets to the rose bowl back in 2006. That and our brand name as well as higher ranking would put us in over a&m if it came to that.
This will all be over in 2014 when the playoffs start and there are no more bowl restrictions because honestly both LSU and A&M deserve a BCS berth if both teams win out.

I am pretty confident a 2nd SEC team gets in, even if ATL winner goes to Sugar. Look at 2nd best teams in other conferences. B1G, PAC12, ACC...etc. If SCar beats Clemson, Tigers are out. It'll be a close call.
