Fair criticism for sure. That said Aggy always has had money but we haven't had the ridiculous, stupid money we have until we rebuilt Kyle. That's what has made us go from Top 10-20 money to Top 2 money (esp combined with the SEC money).
The key was not only the new seats but more importantly the way they built it they destroyed all the old seats on the West Stands, bought out the folks with Grandfathered status, and started fresh with 10 and 15 year leases at monster donation levels. At the same time the SEC schedule assures strong demand along with the mass of Aggie Grads hitting prime donor age (we are now at over 520k living alumni).
It's basically a perfect storm from a revenue perspective and while that's awesome if it doesn't result in Championships WGAS. All it does is create a floor to an extent and make for really nice stuff to go with allowing our coaches to use $100 bills as toilet paper. The hope is certainly if you build it they will come.

You were established years after Texas A&M, your student body is smaller. Texas had to secretly sneak into the SEC in order to kiss the Aggies arse. The '39 title was an AP thing, which I would guess is why it is the only one usually mentioned.
