It seems to be that the pro for A&M is LSU and the con is also LSU.

Texas a&m wasn’t really relevant in the big 12 either

Our home Big XII schedule this year would have been Northwestern State, UAB, ULM, Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor, Kansas and Oklahoma.
Does that answer your question?

Hell yes. No one will tell you differently.

Of course. Much better road trips too.

Nah. It took (is taking) some time to learn everything and gain more familiarity with everyone, but no.

Overall it was an easy choice and improved A&M's revenue, status, and general sporting experience (not just football)

what are the pros and cons in your opinion?
Cons are we don't have the tu game and its taking time to build up hatred and rivalries. But there were just as many pros for ditching tu and their little tagalongs. Like I said, you won't find anyone who doesn't love the move.

Does that answer your question?
Exactly, incredible move by your admins to have the balls and make the move.
Yea, you are in the toughest division in the land, but give me playing Auburn, Bama, and LSU over that bullshite anyday.

Surprised we were able to come in and dominate so quickly (top 5 football finish, basketball SEC champs) and that we were able to dictate the schedule to the detriment of a more established member.
Other than that, it has gone as expected.

What were your impressions of the SEC before you joined? Not just performance in sports but of the conference in a social aspect? Friendly? Hostile? Holier than thou attitude warranted/blown out of proportion, etc?

I wish we never added them. We did them a far bigger favor than they did us.

quote:Absolutely. Much cooler road trips.
Love the competition and stadiums
quote:Not at all. Miss being able to drive 2.5 hours to Austin for an away game, but that's it.
Miss the Big 12?
quote:Yes. I chose A&M over LSU mostly due to driving distance, so its nice getting the best of both worlds.
What are your overall thoughts on the SEC move in general and are you glad you are with us?
quote:Pros: Money, exposure, recruiting, exciting schedule, not having to give Tech and Baylor fans the time of day, and the whole atmosphere is just a better fit for me. Cons: Tougher schedule, travel distance, rarity of playing some East teams, family get togethers with the Cajuns have become a lot more heated
what are the pros and cons in your opinion?

the only thing i miss about the B12 is basketball. despite the conference improving leaps and bounds since 2012, kentucky is still the only matchup that seems to move the needle.

Your broke university needs the money we made possible with the sec network more than anyone

I grew up in College Station. I will always miss the rivalries between OU, Texas, Tech, Baylor, and OSU. But the grass is greener. And you guys are way more fun.

Dictate the schedule? On what day is the LSU-A&M game in College Station this year?
