Aggie fans, what is going on with Marcel Reed and the offense?

in the second half of the 2024 LSU game and the entire 2025 game Reed ran through LSU's defense like a hot knife through butter. Not sure he destroyed anyone else like he did LSU last fall, but by and large he had a great season.

What has happened to him and the offense so far this year?

Defenses are actually making him play QB this year.

Unfortunately for Aggy, they’re already paying him millions and have a backup QB who looks like he didn’t even start in HS.

At the end of the day, nobody respects a HC who looks like that.

Plenty of change happened. 4 of 5 OL went to the NFL. Collin Klein left to be HC at K-State. And then Elko promoted Holman Wiggins to the OC position.

Playcalling has been very confusing and the offense has lost its identity. So all that has contributed to Marcel losing confidence.

Pretty good summation. And you can’t really teach accuracy.

They rebuilt their oline and Tyree Adams is starting. That’s all you really need to know

His players also see him for the faux-intellectual that he is. I bet they troll him during meetings.

on A&M's first play vs LSU this year Reed ducked and took off for 12 yards. I was sitting there thinking "you have got to be kidding me!" Fortunately LSU corrected that .

There are plenty of overweight coaches with a locker room that respects them.

IMO, Wiggins is not the man for the job. His play calling has been very confusing. It does not promote Reed's talent. We have lost two of our best WR's which is not helping. We have a pretty good set of RB's but don't seem to be using them as we should. Reed seems to have regressed much like Arch. Not sure why he is not running the ball more.

We had 10 players drafted last season including four OL, three DL and one DB. For some reasons those holes were not filled very well during the off season.

Ignorant A&M coaches didn’t even try what was successful the previous 2 years against lsu. Baker’s brain was mashed potatoes the last 2 games but let’s scrap that plan.

the very very basic accuracy issues are what has baffled me the most. He’s the worst I have seen. so bad in fact that he MUST have regressed bc nobody would have given him a D1 scholly ever with that basic lack of ability.

Elko is way past “overweight”…

Besides Heupel, who isn’t close to being as fat as Elko, who are the “plenty of overweight coaches” respected in college football?

If you have a good running QB and good backs, why not run the wishbone at this point?

Just being honest with you, and that statement was made by a former QB recruit, so its a throwback way back when.

I would be happy if they just ran more. I don't care what formation they use. They seem to have abandoned what worked last year.

double bingo

Reed has limitations. But, A&M has managed to eliminate the things from the game he does well. I think they worked hard in the offseason to attempt to make him into more of a pocket passer than he was...and not only has it not worked, it has backfired.

Was this a “he’s been loyal so he gets a shot” or was he the best candidate available?

Seems like tying your season to an unproven guy is stupid especially for a school with Aggie resources.

If Elko went and identified several people and the boosters said no I get it, but otherwise that’s a dumb move
