Have you seen the movie Hurricane Season? Well they should have put Cam Newton on the field by himself since none of the other players that he played with mattered. And all of those players from LSU drafted has to make a roster they haven't done anything yet.

Again WTF do defensive players have to do with offensive production?

You don’t see how having 3 OL, 1 RB, and 1 WR drafted in top 108 is different than Cam having zero help drafted? Not to mention all the talent that LSU retains for at least another year such as Jamarr fricking Chase that Burrows had.

Drew Brees has never won the mvp, so are you suggesting that newton is a better qb than Brees?

He wasn’t a good passer.

Stats do not lie.

He almost set what would've been the all-time NCAA Record at the time for Passer Efficiency Rating in a single season. He's still top 15 all time, despite the deluge of passing in the game over the last decade. But okay bud.

You're right, stats don't lie

I don't know. Burrow was lights out the entire year. Sure he might have had better players at a number of positions but he read the coverages, threw darts, and they scored a lot of points against everyone.

Don't think it matters if only Cam could have QB Auburn to the NC. He was a great fit for Auburn that year when it counted. Had the perfect skill set and attitude for that team.

No way Cam and 2010 AU play LSU's 2019 schedule and come out unbeaten.

If you are emotionally attached to cam Newton, you can certainly fabricate a way in your head.

Cam only had one other offensive player to get drafted and it was in the 7th round. He didn't have a roster full of NFL players making him look great.

Wow. That’s impressive. Makes you wonder why Joe Burrow won his Heisman with the highest percentage of first place votes in history. I guess beating 7 top 10 teams (5 on the road) is more impressive than beating 2 top 10 teams?

Ok, now lets look at draft prospects prior to 2019 season.

Are you ready to eat a full sheet pan of crow?

Here is your QB list. Where is Burrow?

LINK
Let me know when you see Justin Jefferson a former 2* recruit

LINK

Do you see Clyde?

I can keep going or are you just gonna accept you witnessed a team buy into an offense, a QB find the perfect fit, a storm of exact proportions where said QB was only in online classes, worked daily with his WR's, and said WR's worked all summer on catching 10,000 balls (no homo aggie) around a multitude of obstacles?

They weren't given those draft spots. They worked their butts' off and earned it. C

To quote a FL great.

It's a common mistake. The Advocate here in BR did the same thing last week.

Cam was the best running back to play at QB in SEC history. He was never able to do all the things Joe could.

That's good info though. People on here don't seem to understand that the players we have replacing the ones you're referring to are mostly rated higher coming out of high school. Will they be better? Time will tell.

You are wasting your time. This logic has already flew over LSU fans' heads. So now we just wait til Burrow sucks and listen to their excuses.

I think Burrow played a more top heavy schedule while Cam played a more consistently tough schedule. The west as a whole isn’t even in the same stratosphere as it was in 2010

Keep in mind LSU shellshocked that Oregon team a mere 7 months later.

7 top ten teams

quote:

Cam played a more consistently tough schedule.

3 top ten teams

You had games against MSU that had 4 losses. 3pt win, but before Cam really got into his groove so I won't count that.

Then a few weeks later you had another 3pt win against UK. UK had 2 conference wins that year

Then you had two tough weeks against LSU and Arkansas(before Petrino road off into Mrs. Sunset)

Then you had a 20pt win against Ole Miss. They had one conference win

Following that you beat a UGA team that only had 3 conference wins

Then you beat the worse Bama team of Saban's tenure according to most Bama fans.

In the SEC title game you manhandled a decent South Carolina team but a team that still had 3 losses heading in.

Now for LSU

quote:

Week 2 beat an top 10 team in Austin, Tx that had something to play for and to prove.

Week 7 #7 UF beat by 2 TD's

Week 9 #9 AU by 3

week 11 #2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa by 5 and ended a 31 game home win streak
Annihilated Arkansas, Texas A&M, and even beat Ole Miss by 19

SECG beat a 1 loss #4 UGA
peach bowl beat 1 loss #4 OU
Sugar bowl # beat #3 Clemson and ended a 29 game win streak

Don't let that logic get in the way though.

Consistently tough my arse.
