$20 says he'll respond saying he "doesn't care about Texas". It's funny how many start threads about Texas while saying they don't care about Texas

So ready for the season to begin. This off-season banter is getting ridiculous.

Hope Aggies & Hogs keep playing annually. Lot of history in this series.

A&M and Mizzou and the other schools that haven't done anything that matters in our lifetimes need to drop this 'Texas is a Boogeyman' false narrative and accept some individual responsibility.
You're the 90's Braves of CFB with the resources and recruiting base you have. All talk and 1 title in 50 plus years to show for it. Embarrassing.

Aggy was kicking yall arse in the mid 80's - mid 90's so sure they weren't wanted ??????

Well if they were wanted, we'd have both been in the SEC, per former SEC commissioner Harvey Schilller.
Houston and Texas Tech were also kicking our arse at that time. We were down. Did the SEC want them too?

I noticed now that they've been called out for their role in the unequal revenue sharing the narrative is slowly changing. Priceless.
Within a day or two it will be accepted reality here that Texas killed Hoffa.

This is your “go to” for LSU, as well!
Impressive run for twenty years there when you were cheating your asses off!
Zero championships…Still!

Beware of listening to anything that bunch of money loving lawyers tells you.
They would sell out their own mother if they could make $10 doing it.
Otherwise, you will find that out for yourself the hard way.

People say this but that is not really the truth. Maybe in the late 1970s that made sense, but at the time Texas was a very mediocre football team with little national draw.
Sure they had history, but this was the era of the Florida Teams and Notre Dame and Nebraska and Tennessee.
This was the pre-internet era and before the explosion of sports media revenue. The SWC basically had the Raycom network and bunch of highly uncompelling games in tiny stadiums. The one time they got it rolling was the Shock The Nation Tour, and that ending with a historic battering at the hands of Miami in the Cotton Bowl. Even Oklahoma was down on their arse then working through the John Blake era, diminishing the appeal of that matchup.
There was very little excitement in any of the SWC at that time.
I would posit if you asked anyone at anytime during the life of the SWC who was in the SWC Texas would have been the only team they could have named unless they were fans of one of the other teams in the conference. I guess prior to OUs leaving the conference in 1920 some folks may have known who Oklahoma was but after that it was only Texas.
For the majority of the conference's existence there was only one team in it that was not in Texas and that program has never been significant except to their supporters. Texas was actually the ONLY fish in the SWC pond...not just a big fish among fish, they were the sole fish in the pond.

Y'all are now just another fish in the pond. Not even a big fish. Those days are over.
Just another team on the SEC schedule.

Texas brings an "every man for himself" ethos to the conference, and this is infectious, because you can't have one selfish member without everyone else acting to protect their interests. That's what ultimately kills conferences.
It all starts with their sincere belief that they are better than everyone else and that playing games is an act of charity toward the opponent. They can deny it all they want, but observe any conversation among them and you'll quickly see the truth of it.

Shut the frick up. TAMU voted with us every step of the way. You are no different from us.

If they win, they will do what they want to do. It is up to your teams to stop this. Are you up to the challenge?

Yeah. The FedEx years. When aggy pulls out all the stops and cheats their asses off they do pretty well against us.

The SWC didn't start until 1918. Prior to WW1, the Southern Conference had all the combined members of the SEC and SWC.

Took them a while to adjust after the era of unlimited scholarships (i.e. paying all the talent to sit on your bench rather than play for your opponents) came to an end. But football is very much full-spectrum warfare in the minds of people like Deloss Dodds, and no weapons were left unused.

5-10 years from now after the SEC disintegrates, Aggies will point to this as the turning point. Your reply will be to scoff "A&M voted for it!" And that will be just as dishonest as the claims you are making now. But dishonesty isn't a problem for Democrats and Texas fans.
Everyone knows why A&M "voted for it". Texas snuck around A&M's back, trying to get everyone else on board while specifically excluding A&M's interests from the decision, in order to be able to present A&M with a fait accompli; which they would have to vote for in the interest of conference solidarity. What other school in the entire country does shite like that? Answer: None. That is Texas' unique modus operandi.
The first act in joining the SEC is to screw over one of your conference mates. Such an auspicious beginning, eh? Once again the Democrat analogy fits: You're like illegal immigrants whose first act is to break the laws of our country, but we are expected to welcome them with open arms.

How exactly did A&M get “screwed”? Do you honestly think it would have better for the SEC for Texas to have gone to the B1G?
Pot. Kettle. You are pointing the finger claiming Texas will do exactly what you are doing right now.. You are looking out for A&M first and that is exactly why you weren’t told.. Sankey knew that y’all would throw a fit and try to squash the deal.. which is exactly what y’all did when you did find out.
You got your feelings hurt because you wanted to be the only team in the SEC.. get over it man.. what’s done is done..
