Manziel had the green light to run. Those teams who played man, had theur back to Johnny. When he saw wide open green he took off. Same goes with someone like Dak. He could chose to keep it based on pre snap reads.

A run-pass option play is not the same as a designed run. I figured you would understand that.

Anyway this just further proves my point. A QB who scrambles to the sideline would get eaten alive by the LSU D when Chavis was there because of the team speed in the front. On the flip side, a QB who attacked between the tackles from a spread formation would gash the D because his scheme isn't built to stop that.

Expect the same thing from him there. He will be great against teams like OM, but AU and MSU will continue to manhandle his D as long as they have a threat to run the ball between the tackles at QB.

And how many teams on your schedule run the spread?

MSU, Ole Miss, Mizzu and Auburn all run variations of the spread. USC doesn't run a spread scheme but they aren't going to line up under center in the single back/I-formation and beat you regularly at the LOS. Bama and LSU are the only two teams we will play annually who both run a true power run scheme AND will have more talent than us. We should be able to outclass Arkansas with talent more years than not.

That's what Snyder did, so Myles won't get any worse. And I'd take LSU's top ranked SEC defense last year even with the sack total. Sounds great.

Do you and the people that upvoted you not get it? You don't have anywhere near the secondary to do what we did the past half decade. Not even close. When you get into crunch time, you'll see what everybody is saying. It happened so damn much, it wasn't even funny.

The question is whether or not Chavis combined with our superior offensive prowess will make us a better overall team in the long run.

I'm an LSU fan and I think he's a nice addition to your program. The bend but don't break style suits your explosive offense. His style will turn drives that went for 7 against you last year into field goals. The style is complementary.

This is exactly how I see it....Chavis' style even if he has to tweek it for the aTm defensive personel coupled with an effective offense will pay dividends for the overall "team" in the long run.

Every coordinator has his faults - every head coach has his faults, as fans we learn to deal with their faults and appreciate the possitives where we can get them.

We could just consider Myles Garrett to be a better pass rusher off the edge than the LSU players were. Chavis seems to think so

Tehuema has as many sacks as Myles Garrett in SEC play and he was a backup last year.

A&M had the leading rusher in the conference in 2012

Yeah you did........he also won the Heisman and played QB.............

You won't see another Johnny Manziel in YOUR LIFETIME at A&M.

Your running backs on the other hand would be 3rd stringers at SC, LSU, Bama, Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee.
