Saban has an advertising deal with Aflac.
What if he were to forego any monetary payment from them and instead entered into an agreement with them to pay recruits instead?

BOOM - Thank you. That is what I am saying. This is year 1. Coaches around the country are going to look at this and it will be way worse in the years to come.

What's in it for the Deon Sanders business or Saban's business?
Nothing for the business itself, but it would help the owner of the business keep his coaching job worth millions per year

I think everyone is thinking too small with stuff...
Wait til the Texas qb is driving a lincoln with Matthew McConaughey in a nationwide commercial next year with him saying.... watch the leather man

Barstool makes a shite ton of $$$ off Deon for the work he does and if the player turns out to be a stud that investment wouldn't turn out to be bad. The coach has the best players which equals wins. Why do you think Brian Kelly left a team still in the playoff hunt for LSU? Because you need the best players to win

If this is case it's against NIL rules.
You cannot use NIL funds to recruit or entice players.
ETA Three schools are currently being investigated for NIL violations.
Why isn't Alabama, Georgia and other top football program not on it too? Why top recruits go to those schools and nothing was investigate? Don't tell me those top recruits weren't getting paid before NIL was established.

Do you realize how many blue chip athletes come out of Georgia? Top 200's?
Georgia should sleep walk their way to a top 5 finish every year.

do think there needs to be a low cap on offering NIL to HS kids.
They aren’t being paid a single entity like the school like pro sports. What you are saying is like saying there should be a cap on endorsements for pro players.
You can’t do that. There’s really no work around that I can see.
Given that, I don’t love this either but I think a lot of it will likely work itself out over time.

What will more than likely happen is 32ish top programs who want to focus on sports will form an "elite" league separate from your academic universities. They will have a commish to dictate policy.

Lol, you understand Saban is just as money hungry as these kids right? Look at his history.

Your entire premise is based on an unverified rumor

The bigger loser in all this is going to be the non-revenue sports. They are going to be out of money. Boostes are already starting to funnel money to collectives to give players NIL deals instead of schools athletic foundations.
