UNC gets off easy. But you can’t make everything perfect and I like it.

If I were a czar, I would try to get Penn state and notre dame into that league.

Psu needs to have Pitt, ND and Miami as rivals.

OSU/Mich as their rivals doesn’t seem natural to a gen x er.

better yet, tell Texas we change or minds, kick 8&4feit back to them, and take OU since they're a better match for the SEC than either of the other 2

A championship is a championship. If you doubt otherwise, go ask Saban if he would discount winning the SEC West as a benchmark and goal for his team.

A goal - yes. But if all the team does is win the division, then the season is shite and certainly nothing to take pride in.

Is this a thing at Auburn? Do you actually celebrate winning the division, when you can't win the conference or play for the NC?

Typical Gump. If you're an athlete or fan of Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, or any other team that hasn't sniffed a conference title (let alone the actual game) post-expansion, would you consider a divisional title to be meaningless? Furthermore, even if you're a Big 6 team that has won it all in football, you can bet your bottom dollar that the athletes were happy to get a divisional ring for the season, too.

P.S. Also, IDGAF about playing every team every four years.

AMEN!!! WHY does it have to be 4 years when you can keep all important games & do full H/A in 6?

Do teams do division win rings?

Does the SEC give out rings for division winners?

Call me a typical Gump, I don't give a shite. No Big6 program should take pride and joy in winning a division and if that's all the team accomplishes, it's a disappointment. Rings for a division winner, you're joking right?

1-7 vs 3-6 debate is dead locked mainly due to the additional conference game.
Thus teams who have OOC rivals for rivalry week (UK, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida) get shafted by this scheduling as they have to play an extra power 5 opponent that the other schools may not, which could hurt their chances at a bowl game. This of course doesn't include the other weaker programs w/o OOC rivals that really need that extra easier ooc game to make getting to a bowl easier

Also, as Stoops said, enough people get fired from this league. Adding an extra conference game gaurantees half the conference an extra loss which only adds more fuel to the fire under coaches.

So that's why there's a debate. Personally I think they should just do 3-5 so each side gets something of what they want but whatever

There are also certain programs like UF and UGA who will start playing at least 2 P5 OOC games annually this year.

EVERY SEC school has made rings for winning their division in football. Even Bama.

Why does the graphic say “one division?” One division, meaning it isn’t divided, meaning no divisions. It should just say “no divisions.”

ACC has 14 teams. The SEC is expanding to 16. The jist of the 1/7 vs 3/6 debate was essentially to accomplish the same thing.

I don't know why 2/6 isn't on the table.

Looking at this graphic makes me realize how much the ACC has fallen off

Good lord what a terrible football conference

The issue isnt bowl eligibility.

The issue is schedule flexibility.
UGA would rather the flexibility to add Clemson, Oregon, or Notre Dame to the schedule as opposed to an extra game against Ole Miss, Miss St, Vandy, or Missouri.

And UGA is also one of the schools that's playing 2 P5 OOC annually starting this year (we're doing the same).

Many SEC West teams complain about OOC cupcakes on their schedule.

For some reason, their fans havent realized that the OOC scheduling is the only scheduling that each team can control themselves. Want better: Do better.

2/6 = rotate 6 through 13 in 3 yrs, home/home with conference in 6

3/6 = rotate 6 through 12 in 2 yrs, home/home with conference in 4.

I believe Miami and possibly FSU are ramping up recruiting with NIL deals and better coaches. We'll see how that works out for them but both definitely need to pick up their game and get back to relevance.
