That was a mix between family pressure and Saban being a douche. AU had nothing to do with it.

I'm an LSU fan living in Nashville so I've seen first hand what he's done here without a bias. He may seem like a POS but he's actually a good guy. He's done some cool things in the community that few people outside of Nashville know. Yes he's a little nuts and eccentric but that's exactly what Vandy football needs. Someone with some moxie and vigor to wake things up there.

i think what he's done for the nashville community and the school of Vanderbilt is great. I think the WAY he conducts himself on the football field and in recruiting circles warrants a swift donkey punching.

Again, i think he's great for Vandy and does great things for the community, but outside of that, i think he's a douche

All coaches do great things in the community, because it's pretty much part of the job.

Yes, if you get all your news filtered through UGA fans...

If it was just the Georgia game I would think it's an isolated incident, but I seem to remember him sharing some words with another head coach after a game, pointing his finger and shite.

I might be in minority as a UT fan, but I really like Franklin and I think Vandy made a home run hire. I remember him talking a lot of shite last year during the off season but he backed it up. he made friggin Vandy look competitive.

That's correct, but it was a far cry from picking a fight, IMO. That said, I could really do without that kind of crap...

He comes off as a douche a lot of times.

He's good for Vandy until he leaves which will probably be in the next couple seasons.

Vandy needs to go after a Vandy guy (not sure who this would be) or a guy late in his career looking to settle down for awhile before retiring. Hiring up and comers is no way to build sustainable success at a program like Vandy.

see i also agree with that

he didn't just get chippy with jawja, he just lost his cool most with us and he got all mad and stuff and almost got that deserved donkey punching from grantham

but he's great for vandy and nashville, like i said as long as he is a dore i will root for them 11/12 games a year. when he leaves i hope he fails at everything and UGA gets to play him and make him mad every year

Screw that, I would take 3 years of success (big assumption here, I know) with Franklin whether it is sustainable or not. I'd also be curious to know your formula for sustained success at Vandy? The guys you described above fit the profiles of Watson Brown (Vandy guy) and Bobby Johnson (sunset option). While CBJ had some success, he was not able to sustain it either...

Having 3 years of success will benefit Vandy greatly. Someone needs to prove they can win there before any established coaches will go there.

Well my plan is not fool proof.

And yea, 3 years of success then a drop off can at least prove what's possible so it's not an entirely bad thing.

Holy crap. A Kentucky fan offering advice on how to build a football program.

OR I'm just telling him what doesn't work, since we've been there and done that?

But apparently you don't have the mental capacity to see both sides of an issue.

Not to mention, we've had moderate success doing the things I mentioned.

But since you're a Xavier fan, I guess you don't have the right to give anyone any advice on anything sports related.
