quote:im actually confused on an SEC board that this is surprising to so many people here. People in California don’t care about college sports, it’s really not that surprising that the SEC games dwarfed it in ratings. Especially now that they have 2 NFL teams. Maybe they had a bigger draw back in the day when those teams were in St Louis and San Diego and USC-UCLA were the LA teams but just look at the attendance record of those schools now
I wonder if USC has the pull they used to. It appears not these past few years.

would never have occurred to me even look on NBC for a college football game. I don't really care for Notre Dame, so I never check it out. I didn't even know they covered anything besides Notre Dame.

The tv product is good. You can see high production values. They have to hate these ratings.

USC would be more popular than the rams or chargers if they were at the top of the sport. Sofi is routinely filled with fans of visiting teams.

Is nice to turn on ABC and never have to change it the whole day.

The U vs FSU a couple of weeks ago was on ABC prime time. Clempsum is a dumpster fire so they probably won’t be on too many evenings now. Look for a lot of Miami and Ga Tech in the ACC, especially for the title game. Not sure how many ACC prime time games are left tbh.

That’s right.
But zero games on any broadcast network this week. And probably next week too. And a lot of these are ACCN games.

ACCN like SECN and BTN get the drudges of games schedulers for those weeks. Nice for filler, really. Lots of Purdue and Northwestern up here on BTN. The middling teams as well, like Minnesota and Iowa. Penn state should be relegated to PA viewership only. They are a train wreck wrapped in an F5 tornado going off a 1000 foot cliff

I think the ACC will probably shut out the next two, maybe three weeks. The Big10 has a better deal, but you might still be playing on peacock. And I’m just done subscribing to stuff.

Yeah Buckeyes had their one obligatory peacock game earlier so they are done. Streaming is a pain in the arse. My wife was gonna kill me if I cut the cord completely on DIRECTV so I removed the movie channels but kept her hallmark shite on there. The streaming services are gouging people now and I cut off like three of them. frick spending all that

I don’t know man. It would be worth being gouged to make sure you don’t get stuck watching all that Hallmark channel brain rot lol.

How did Michigan/USC not do better than that?
They aren’t big into college football in CA.

When USC had it rolling under Carroll it was huge. You’d see those USC car flags from everywhere. It was they city’s team.

This. Los Angeles is a hotbed for anything but television. Which is ironic, since that’s the home of sitcoms and serials. Way too many activities going on.
You nailed it, Nasty. And most LA sports fans are superficial fans. When I lived in LA I went to a Saints-Rams game. The Rams scored a TD and the fans stayed seated and clapped while remaining quiet. Weirdest thing I have ever seen at a football game.

True but winning brings out the casual fair weather fans. Plus that was 20 years ago.

Yeah I hide out in the man cave downstairs and watch some pirated apps for new release movies. Having a VPN is a must. It scrambles the signal to your pc. Warch mainly football but some new release movies like Black Phone 2 and watched Sinners and some European and Asian horror flicks. Stuff you don’t normally get on channels over here

this upcoming week is going to be blood bath as well
ABC:
LSU @ Vandy
Ole Miss @ Georgia
Tenn @ Bama
FOX:
Wash @ Mich
TTech @ ASU
Utah @ BYU
CBS:
Ohio @ Wisconsin
NBC:
USC @ Notre Dame
NBC will be the highest rated but its going right up against Tenn @ Bama
Other interesting items to where these teams have fallen:
SMU @ Clemson ACCN (My bet is beginning of the season this was penciled in ABC/ESPN)
Penn St @ Iowa Peacock
Michigan St @ Indiana Peacock
Oregon @ Rutgers BTN
I don't understand why putting the biggest brands on stream only and the equivalent to SECN

It was a different time. They were stacked. Those players were as recognizable around town as the Lakers.
Not sure if that can be recreated today. But a playoff bound SC would be more popular than the Rams or Chargers.
