No one gives a shite about this game.
It’s literally the only game on the schedule that Georgia Tech fans care about.

I enjoy football rivalries. No need to rank them. I will say Big10 at noon rivalries make me want to nap.

5. Wash-Wash St
4. UGA-Ga Tech
3. Egg Bowl
2. Ohio St-Mich
1. The Iron Bowl
Top two are good but the rest of his top five no way.
All of these are better:
Oklahoma v Texas
Georgia v Auburn
Florida v Georgia
FSU v Florida
WVU v Pitt
USC v Notre Dame

The glaring one not listed is the RRR
Nebraska-Oklahoma was far better and far more consequential for many years.

I guarantee that Ole Miss and State hate each other more than Texas and Oklahoma. The only rivalry that has more hate is probably the Iron Bowl
You don't get the Red River game at all. It's like two warring nations. It isn't a routine Ag/Flag game like the Egg Bowl.
Ag/Flags are a dime a dozen.

As an actual rivalry, it wasn't even close to Oklahoma Texas. It was a high stakes game. In fact it really isn't a rivalry from the Oklahoma side of things. There was never any burning hate for Nebraska in Oklahoma. It was a little bit different in Nebraska because they really didn't have anybody else to hate.
And the game setting paled in comparison to the Red River game. Nebraska was just an intense home and home. The game in Dallas is just on another level.

And those are just two examples. This kind of shite goes on all the time between the two schools. If one school is succeeding, the other will actively work to tear the other one down behind the scenes. Ole Miss and State have almost the most toxic rivalry in college football but you don’t hear about it as much because, well, it’s Mississippi.

Even UGA fans know SC-Clemson is way more intense than UGA-Gt. What a stupid list.

SC and Clemson top the list when it comes to hate filled rivalries.

The Egg Bowl is a true rivalry, but it’s because of both schools desire to achieve more & to overcome the disadvantage of being in a small, poor state. It’s not real hatred. Some think it is but it’s not.
Iron Bowl is real hatred.Blind, irrational hatred between 2 fan bases that have more in common than differences.
But Florida/ Florida State is the most toxic, hatred driven rivalry that I’ve witnessed. Everybody knows FloridaMan( not UF) is crazy, but those fans have rotted their brains with their hatred of each other. It was awesome to live in the state but not be on either side. Just sit back & watch the crazy .
From the Gators coming out with “Not Now. Not Ever” on the back of their jerseys instead of their names to the FSU fan Santa Clause telling a 6 year old that Santa hated the Gators & wanted the Seminoles to win.

I have a deep appreciation of our military and respect each of the men on these teams. But man, I just do not understand why this game is pushed so much. It’s so boring.
The game on the field happens to be a secondary product here. The rivalry between the two academies is strong.
