A&M’s schedule is no different than the schedule for Ohio State, Indiana, Oregon, Texas Tech, BYU, Notre Dame … every team in every other conference. Only some of the SEC teams have harder schedules.

Well hold on there pardner.

This Texas team has had a bumpy road - no doubt - but I think we need to give Aggie full credit for the Texas game. Just because Texas is not the world-beater that some expected, does not mean its not a worthy opponent.

Aggie may beat Texas, but I wouldn't just call it a gimme by any stretch.

If we beat you, then you will be considered an awful team with no talent and a lame duck coach who never stood a chance against a mediocre Aggie team.

Before our game with Mizzou, there were college football analysts predicting our loss and talking about Zollers as an upgrade at QB. I even saw those posts here. After the game - Mizzou sucks, our OC sucks, Zollers sucks. We had no chance.

It has happened after every win.

There’s no doubt the Ags got a lucky SEC draw this year. But they’ve taken care of their business, and will still have to prove themselves in Atlanta and especially in the playoffs.

Posts like this make me wish Elko hadn't shown mercy and punched it in for a TD on the last drive.

I touched on this on the SEC Score Board … the trending phenomenon amongst some has become: A&M beats its opponents, then *poof,* suddenly they're nobodies, and the Ags are “lucky.”

The Ags just went on the road for three straight SEC games (Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, Columbia) and handled all three opponents—a heavy lift in this conference. Since we’ve been in the SEC, we’ve played in the toughest division in CFB; yet when the conference restructures itself, we’re criticized for something out of our hands.

There’s not much Texas A&M could do about the SEC not placing Bama, Ole Miss, or Georgia on our 2025 slate. We did, however, have preseason #1 UTex, #9 LSU, #13 South Carolina, and #15 Florida on our docket.

Josh Pate said it well: Characterizing games like A&M-Mizzou as a trap game—knowing who the QB is going to be—then changing the post-game narrative after the Ags win is disingenuous. You can’t put A&M on upset alert prior to the game then make “backup QB” excuses after the fact.

As for playing top teams in the CFP …

We’ve known this. Everyone knows this but them. Even a lot of the national talking heads have mentioned it.

A&M plays almost exclusively the 8 worst teams in the conference. They get extremely upset when you tell them that though as evident by the responses in this thread.

Love all the playoff talk and how deep the SEC is vs BIG / other conferences...

...until it's other SEC schools talking about A&M's schedule.

The majority of the time its fans of teams who arent even in the mix crying about everyone else's schedules. If you cant even make a 12 team playoff, the only schedule that kept you out was your own.

Sorry we didn’t know Missouri was going to be so shitty when the schedule was made.

Congrats on beating a 3rd string QB, & a 3rd string kicker. Mizzou’s D shut down A&M into the 3rd quarter. Send .Zollers a thank you card for that gift TD before halftime. If Mizzou’s offense had any pulse, this would have been a much closer game. In other words, the Mizzou team that played against Bama would have either beat you or lost tight one well within the spread.

I laughed out loud at this post.

quote:

There’s not much Texas A&M could do about the SEC not placing Bama, Ole Miss, or Georgia on our 2025 slate.

Add Oklahoma, Vandy, Tennessee too. (Adding them because you haven’t played a single opponent with a conference record of .500 or better)

quote:

We did, however, have preseason #1 UTex, #9 LSU, #13 South Carolina, and #15 Florida on our docket.

Cool. Preseason rankings don’t mean anything as stated literally every single year.

A&M will finish with having played one ranked SEC team when the final rankings are out - Texas.

You’ve played SEC opponents with a combined conference record of 8-27 and it’ll be 9-33 after this coming week

*cue incoming Aggies upset at the facts I just presented*
