Why do you keep acting like assistant head coach is a big position? Tell me everything the assistant head coach does when he’s not a coordinator, position coach, recruiting coordinator, etc. Pretty much an analyst spot who holds a clipboard and gets the coach coffee. Probably just didn’t want to have to pay his buyout but y’all solved that problem.

Staffs only get a set number of assistant coaches. You can't replace one assistant coach with two assistant coaches, but you can add a staff member who isn't an asst coach.
Coley was demoted from OC, but he wasn't asked to take a pay cut, and he wasn't fired, and he wasn't reduced to a staff (non asst coach) job, and he retained his title of assistant head coach.

If we (As in Georgia) could have kept him as a position coach we would have and would have been happy about it. He can recruit lights out. But "we" definitely did not want him back as OC.

Still not getting it...no one stays after being demoted while two new coaches have taken your position.
Kirby likes Coley and made it easy for him to leave without firing him.

“Gone” = removing him from calling the offense whatsoever. Who cares if he is on staff and stairs at a wall all day. Let him recruit only if you want

You're still not getting it. You can't hire two new coaches to replace a coach who is still on staff. Every team only gets a set number of asst coaches.
