I legit think Kirby is hard to work for. He's lost too many people that were important to his staff over the past season and offseason. UGA has the money to compete with other school's offers but folks are choosing to go.

It is, however, false to act like UGA fired him or didn't try to keep him. It's just not true.

How's about this then: we demoted him based on poor performance, drastically reduced his responsibilities, cut his salary, and hired someone to take his place.

That's how hard we tried to keep him.

and he's helped bring in classes ranked #3, #1, #2, and #3 in those 4 years.

Ummmm...he was hired in January of 2016. So, he had something to do with the 2017, 2018 and 2019 classes. Not sure where your fourth class came from. I am guessing you are counting the 2016 class, but he was here less than a month when that was put ion the books.

That said, he will be missed.

True. He was demoted from assistant head coach and OC to merely assistant head coach.

drastically reduced his responsibilities

drastically might be an overstatement, but maybe not. It's a pretty big deal to lose playcalling duties.

false.

false. Someone was hired to take over his OC duties, but not his assistant head coach duties. You now have room on the staff to add someone else.

That's fair. I'll edit.

Actually...the data was not counting 2016. The data is from the 17, 18, 19, and 20 classes. Yall finished #6 for the 2016 class.

Don’t y’all have like 3 coaches still on staff

Our coaches left for promotions not for a lesser job which is what UGA to A&M is.

We definitely wanted to keep him, but it’s really difficult to keep a guy you just demoted.

Both fan bases (not shockingly) are being pretty obtuse on this.

A&M did well to hire him as a TE coach and recruiter. He is a great recruiter, no doubt. Like you said, he just wasn't a good OC.

Who is “we” ?

If “we” is the fan base, then not true. Everyone wants him gone since USCe game.

Haven’t read where the team wanted him to stay. Seems like Kirby put the writing on the wall.

Just stupid acting as if A&M “stole” some great asset from UGA.

He was replaced by two coaches.

The people who make decisions about who is on the UGA staff, most notably Kirby.

The 2020 class isn't over. We are hoping to finish at least 2nd, so you might have a nice edit.

I couldn't remember where we finished in 2016 and was too lazy to look it up.
