Let me start by saying that while I'm obviously thrilled with the Jimbo hire, I understand that it doesn't guarantee anything. However, I don't understand the logic behind saying we won't win it all because history says so. Before Swinney, Clemson won it's last title in 1981, and since then were very comparable to A&M's level of success until Dabo took over. But they're certainly an elite program now and have the hardware to prove it.

So is my logic flawed in thinking that a great coach surrounded by resources has a high probability of winning big, no matter the history of the program he's leading?

Dabo - 10 Seasons in ACC
.777 Win %
4 Conference Titles
1 National Title

Jimbo - 8 Seasons in ACC

.783 Win %
3 Conference Titles
1 National Title

Also worth noting that LSU hadn't won a title since 1958 until Saban and Jimbo brought them one in 2003.

Well reasoned post.
Don’t expect any discussion beyond, “gay,” “A7M,” and “the contract is too damn high.”

Yes Texas A&M has great potential. Clemson might have been an easier ride to being a top program tho. Because they play in a conference with only one powerhouse team. A&M has all the recourses, and is in a great state for recruiting, but they face three powerhouses in their division of the conference alone every year. It'll be harder to get where Clemson is, at A&M, even with the better facilities and recruiting state because of competition imo.

The hardest part is Jimbo runs a 90s era pro-style offense and he's recruiting in a state that plays spread offenses exclusively. So even though he'll recruit well, he'll have to spend a lot of time converting those kids from digital back to analog. That will be tougher than aggots think...

Have aggots even thought about this yet or are they even aware? Of course not.

and FWIW, Clemson is kind of an anomaly in the program they've become

As long as the Aggies find a way to replace Auburn, Alabama, and LSU with BC, Syracuse, and Wake Forest everything should be fantastic!

Jimbo's FSU: 19-2 vs Wake/BC/Cuse last 8 years
Texas A&M: 4-14 vs LSU/Auburn/Alabama last 6 years (2-13 in the last 5 years)

But yes, your potential is the same.

Y’all have a chance. Neither Clemson or LSU was predictable and the same goes especially for Aggie no matter how much you analyze it. But until it happens all you are is the guy who brags about how much money he lost at the casino.

all y'all really need to do to seize your potential related to Pickens Tech is slap a couple of these ...

...on the outside of Kyle Field. you have more $$$ than they do and Reverend Dildo would be terribly jealous of Jimbo.

Charles, I thought our biggest obstacle was our culture, traditions and the Yell Leaders?

Mike Sherman ran a West Coast offense at A&M and he had two of the most prolific offenses in the whole country. In 2009 and 2011 A&M's offenses were both in the top 10.

SABAN......that’s all you need to know here. None of his protégés have EVER beaten him.

Doesn’t matter what you do over there, Jimbo can’t get any hardware for you if he can’t beat HIS DADDY.
