do it now A&M. I'm hoping their addition will make it possible for LSU to not play Florida every year.

The meeting this Thursday isn't to make a hard decision whether to move or stay.

It's a legal briefing on the ramifications of the LHN, whether the Big 12, Fox and ESPN knowingly worked a deal to benefit one member over the other nine, and what the penalty clauses will be when we leave.

In essence, don't expect any huge headlines Friday morning. This is simply the next step to be taken to move East, and by doing this it appeases a few politicians and regents.

I'm told that Buddy Jones and Baylor and Kent Hance and Tech already have contingency plans in place. Word is the MWC will become your next BCS conference with the fallout, when it happens, whether it be tomorrow or in 5 years.

IMO, based on what I hear and know, I wouldn't expect a move or vote to move until the winter of 2011-2012. Since July 1 has passed, we have until July 1 of next year to make a decision. That is the official exit dates of the NCAA to move conferences.

For the record, the extra game that exchanged hands between Fox and ESPN is what sent Bill Byrne, President Loftin and the Regents over the sidewall on the new Big 12-2. I'm actually shocked that Dollar Bill has become anti-Big 12 now, considering he'll only be around for another year or two.

AnM should be the west, and Va.tech in the east. If they make this move.

I like this idea.

If this were true, and A&M could assure state politicians that Baylor and Tech would have a long-term BCS conference home, I think A&M would have already announced their move to the SEC.

however I would hate to see FSU in. Don't want them in on the share of the giant SEC pie.

The Pac Ten has already made it known that they want the Texas Market. I can somehow see Texas Tech going to the Pac 10.

ATM needs to say GTFO to all the other SEC schools and just do what is best for them.

SEC will enter the Texas markets and in my opinion it will be through...
1. ATM
2. OU
3. TCU

Holy crap. Who else would move with them though? We're not going to have 7 and 6 divison.

Add A&M and Oklahoma to the West.

Move Auburn to the East.

Well if they take Texas Tech or Baylor over TCU, then I will be setting up a petition for Bama to leave the SEC.

I wouldn't mind seeing aTm in the SEC. One thing that I was thinking that may be a factor; is with the PAC 10/12 and the Big12/10 signing new huge tv deals, the SEC's T.V. deal doesn't look all that great anymore. IF the SEC too aTm and possibly another team, it would change the foundation of the contract and force a renegotiation. The SEC with the Texas market in place could really run up the price of the contract.

I'm not intimately familiar with the contracts that are in place, but what do you guys think? Personally I think it's a pure money game right now and the SEC with it's current contract is not in as good of a position as some other conferences, even though we have the best product.

I thought we were the only team west of the river. Wrong or not, look at a map showing how far away LSU is from everyone. Adding teams to the east really isn't fair.

I hope you're joking b/c if not you are a certified retard.

You and I both know its not quite that easy. The whole executive sessions and then the official vote.

You have to remember that A&M agreed to stay as long as they were guaranteed equal financial footing with OU and Texas. Texas *agreed* with Beebe last summer, and now you have ESPN and Fox adding more value to the Longhorn brand at the expense of others (not just A&M). In reality, A&M and OU were the only other ones with options last year. This year, KU, KSU and MU have options and Baylor/Tech have been speaking with the MWC and negotiating "big dog" status with that conference.

Like Nebraska, you'll never hear words like "official invitation" until the BOR of each school says "Adios!". Then you see the new conferences extending invitations and so forth.

If you'd like to entertain my side of the story and how I fall into this Dr. D, feel free to email me. I'll put it in my profile.

Look, I have no beef with the LHN as long as Texas is Indy. Texas has a great brand, and can do as they may on their own.

If we're gonna expand I'd like to get a couple programs that bring more to the table in basketball than football, or a little bit of both at least. A couple solid ACC schools like FSU, Va Tech, and North Carolina would be my pick. I'm not too interested in having a conference schedule of OU, okla st., Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Bama, Miss St, and Auburn

uf doesn't want fsu in the conf,va tech probably could get in since no one would care about them.

unc i dont think uk would like them to be in to challenge them. i wouldn't mind them because that would mean that bastard roy williams has to come to the pmac

i wouldn't be against a&m coming in as i think the west could drown them pretty easily. ou would hurt though because they could shift power a little bit and make it alot harder to get to the nc than it already is.

If we add two more teams to the SEC, a full realignment would need to be done. We already have two Alabama teams and two Mississippi teams in the same division.

Add A&M and OU, send the East Auburn and trade Miss St. for UK or Vandy.

FSU doesn't want in the SEC. They had the offer before they joined the ACC and declined.

even if fsu wanted it now do you think uf would be ok with it?

i think they would go with what road said and not want fsu to get a share of this.

The only real Diff would be our game would no longer be an OOC.
If FSU went to the West, we would have to drop LSU in order to keep a west rotation going.
If we play all other Division teams, we would have to Drop one West team.

Our Schedule would then look like this:

6 SEC East teams
4 OOC Teams
2 SEC West teams (FSU and one other because we would be unwilling to end that rivalry)

If FSU came to the East....:

6 SEC East teams (FSU each year, no problem)
4 OOC Teams
2 SEC West teams (LSU and one other )

edit: that is, unless all SEC teams went to 3 OOC and 9 Conference games
