You probably think A&M has better tailgating than OM too

As far as pork ribs go, I agree.

BTW, as a native Texan this is going to be a bit blasphemous, but I actually prefer pork ribs over beef and I like vinegar type sauces.

I too prefer pork ribs over beef ribs. I prefer my pork ribs memphis style. I personally make sausage more often than briskets, ribs, and pork butts.

I don't mind the BBQ shite talking. Now if some yankee tries to tell me how to make chili, that is a different story.

Yeah, lets just ignore the fact that you can find Corkys sauce in every state. Our worst bbq sauce is more nationally known than anything out of Texas. Hell, it was on Seinfeld.

Couldn't tell you as I've never been to an OM game.

Really, they are difficult to compare. A&M has a gigantic area for tailgating that extends from east to west campus. The tailgating is different in different areas. As I understand, the grove is more centralized. That probably helps to have a more party atmosphere, so it very well could be better from that standpoint. Im sure anyone could have a good time at both.

To be fair, the Texas "thing" is to not use sauce anyway. Which I absolutely HATE about their BBQ, and why I much prefer KC and Memphis BBQ over it. (I like Memphis but predictably prefer Gates, Arthur Bryant's, LC's and other KC establishments to the Memphis stuff, but thats just me).

Down here in Austin people go ga ga over their Franklin BBQ spot and wait hours on end...which is nice and all but the one time I went I had to make a point of taking a bottle of Gates BBQ sauce with me...THEN it was good. Oh and the Salt Lick's sauce that they do actually use?

Sorry, but around here, real BBQ joints make their own sauce.

Prediction: After the UF vs A&M game there will be a much smaller number of A&M fans posting on this board and even fewer willing to talk shite.

I just really, for the life of me,I can't see where the media is building all this hype up for A&M winning this weekend.

There is just a giant disparity of talent between an average SEC team compared to a BIG12 team on the defensive side of the ball.

Size. Speed. Depth. Florida has a very good front 7. Multiple future NFL draft picks there. I don't care how supposedly good A&M's line is and how good Christian Michael is. A&M has a BIG12 O-line and Christian isn't on an SEC roster for a reason. LSU passed up on him.

Florida's O will have the ball all day long and plenty of opportunities to score. If they score on half their offensive possessions, this game won't even be close.

I'm not sure where A&M is getting all this confidence, considering the last SEC team they played, thumped them with ease.

And any other debate about tailgating, who has a more passionate fanbase, or a better overall athletic department between the two groups of fans. get real. it's Florida and not even close.

Im not real fond of Austin BBQ joints. You gotta venture out to Elgin (Meyers or Southside), Lockhart (Blacks), and my favorite joint, Cooper's in Llano.

Does this apply as compared to MAC teams like Bowling Green too?

Look, I buy into the SEC being better defensively and the top teams like Bama and LSU especially, or even the other top East teams like UGA and South Carolina.

But Florida looked like a pile of dogshit that does not have its house in order yet this past weekend. I don't know how anyone could view the game and not think that. I just don't think UF is the team you want to be waving around all your vast SEC superiority claims with right now, they may well let you down until they get their shite the frick together.

Memphis BBQ is EXTREMELY overrated.

I would have to agree.

And I prefer pork ribs. Cow ribs ugh.

Been to Lockhart the epicenter of the hype. Meh. It's all just a cultural thing. I will go to Gates or Fiorellas Jack Stack or LC's or Bryants a thousand times over before I waste a day going back to Lockhart just for that. It just didn't stand out as so head and shoulders better meal experience that I would want to go back. But again, I was raised on burnt ends slathered in great KC sauce. Its a cultural thing.

Hey Bob.

I don't give a frick what you're talking about. I'll talk about what I want to talk about and shite on every A&M thread on this site until the Aggies earn respect here and on the playing field.

You talk about BBQ. I talk about how Florida will flex the SEC's muscle this weekend. You talk about the passionate relationship you and youre boy toy have. I talk about taking a shite on the field at Kyle field. See how this works?

thx.

No doubt.

But at the same time. A&M didn't play a first game. So we have no idea what their weaknesses are this season judged from their first game. Ummm, their will be plenty.

Teams also get better from Week 1 to Week 2. And there will be a different level of intensity and focus this week by the Gators knowing they are playing A&M as compared to a mehhh home opener against BGSU.

Its funny because as much as people associate beef with Texas, most Texans I know seem to prefer pork ribs and every BBQ joint makes them.

Really, Brisket is the only beef item I prefer other than steaks, but it has to be done right. Anyone in Texas, goto Cooper's in Llano and you will not regret it. Great brisket and great everything really. Sauce is superb.
