You can back and read any of my posts I try to be respectful. I love OU going to the SEC now and I’m embracing a much harder schedule in every sport and I wasn’t at the games against LSU but I spent some time in Louisiana and I loved the talks we always had about football. They were respectful and although we had different accents I felt like we had a lot in common.
Welcome to the SEC, we take the SEC seriously and we fight between us like the Hatfields and McCoys sometimes! But we are family, the only ones allowed to mess with members of the SEC are it’s own members! But “no one” else otherwise you feel the wrath of the entire SEC. Welcome to the family you little paint chip eater! lol

I honestly feel like Oklahoma will fit in just fine. LSU vs Oklahoma has the potential for a great rivalry. I'm looking forward to traveling to Norman.
Well it is gonna ramp up really hard soon. Cause they are gonna put the UT/A&M on rivalry weekend that leaves an LSU/OU for that weekend.
Understand who is driving this, it is ESPN all the way.
Now with that understanding and realizing that ESPN wants UT/A&M for rivalry weekend. You tell me what other matchup makes sense from ESPN’s viewpoint LSU/Arky? Not gonna happen.

Oklahoma's culture fits in a lot better in the SEC than Texas's.

When y’all come to Norman if you come to the game let me know and I’ll buy you a beer and talk some football. I agree, LSU and OU does have some great potential to be a good rivalry.

There was some guy on the radio who has either covered Texas for years or used to cover them. Caught the tail end of a local show here.
He said UT has ideas down the road of trying to influence the direction of the SEC. Then he said “ they are out of their element, they had a lot of pull in the Big12 but that will not happen in the Southeastern Conference. I think it is a huge miscalculation on their part.”

Yeah, you're right. It's been mostly Texas fans, but I figured I'd lump y'all together as newbies. I'm actually looking forward to Oklahoma. Texas has had me a little skeptical. I'll reserve judgment for a few years. Lol
Reserve judgement now. They’re the fricking worst. You’ve had a few years of cult Aggie to temper your expectations for the true conference cancer.

We shall see. We’ll act cool for a few seasons, then slowly but surely take over your conspiracy-loving conference

That sounds great. Would be even better if it turns out to be true. I don't think it is the new world though.
I don't think this is the end of expansion. I think you are going to see the SEC add teams as NIL takes over and elite college football becomes a semi pro league. The money is just too good not to. Soon enough they will look at add Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan etc. They want the big draws and the big money and to create one or two Super Conferences with maybe 30 or so teams, only those who can create enough value.
Texas is going to push for this (they are already talking about it) but more importantly, ESPN will too. Brotherhood and loyalty are all good and well until the checks get big enough. In the end you have a true world of haves and have nots. It may or may not be called the SEC or the B1G or whatever at that point.
That is why schools like State and Vandy and probably Arkansas and Ole Miss and perhaps South Carolina may have voted for their own death warrants in voting for this expansion. As my Dad always used to say, "Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered".
