I have read quite a few whinefests today about why the CFP doesn't work, why new rules should be enforced, etc... "We have Bama/Clemson fatigue!"

Stop bitching when you got what you asked for. Also, changing things isn't going to change the outcome. You are still going to get mostly Southern teams from Southern states winning the championship. Even if Alabama and Clemson decide to shut down their programs after Monday night, they will simply be replaced by other Southern teams. Here's why:

1. Football is a cultural thing here. You can call it what you want, but it is what it is. Most Southern boys don't grow up dreaming of playing for the NHL,or being the best soccer player, or winning that championship in badminton. They want to play football.

Southern people embraced college football almost 100 years ago. And those perennial powers like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, and every other team that were considered great knew they were essentially screwed. They started their own little league and bowed out of real football.

Southern schools MAKE money on football. Money that provides all those neat stadiums, workout facilities, practice facilities, rec rooms, training staffs, dietitians, and other goodies. Oh, and they also put money back into the general funds and provide money for regular student scholarships. Your NHL ticket didn't do that, our sold out stadiums did.

We love college football, and we support it. We teach it to our children. Many Southern states don't really have professional sports, so we support collegiate athletics.

2. You can reduce scholarships again, but you are still not going to out recruit most Southern teams. You are just going to cause fewer underprivileged kids a chance to go to college. There are around 130 FBS teams. Only about 10 or 12 of those are going to attract 4 and 5 star recruits on a consistent basis.

3. A playoff was created because YOU believed that the SEC was just some hype machine. Your teams were as good, they were just being left out. After being consistently skull dragged (with the exception of Ohio State), you think sacrificing more of your poorly recruited, badly coached, unsupported, and rarely-skilled teams to Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, etc... will make a difference? Let's face it, the CFP bitching PROVES you don't actually want the best teams to play. You want your team to be there, whether they are good enough or not. Hell, I am with you to a certain extent. I would love to watch a bunch of guys with the SEC patch on their shoulder teabag your champions an extra time every year.

4. All things come to an end. Alabama will eventually lose again. Who knows how long this can last? I am riding every glorious moment. I was born in 1970, and I have lived through ups and downs with my favorite team. When Bama finally declines, your team might have a similar run. Nebraska had a run. Oklahoma, USC, Florida State, Miami, Florida, the names go on and on. The worm will turn eventually. Don't try and turn NCAA football into the NFL so you can "feel" better.

I agree with #4. All dynasties end sooner or later. It’s just the way it is.

We need reform. The game is dying and people are pissed.

1. Limit the SEC to 50 scholarships and 3 coaches.

2. If a play goes to review, the result is an automatic decision in favor of the non-sec school. If it's an SEC game, decision goes against Bama

3. Make Bama players wear hiking boots and play with 9 players.

It’s not an sec thing. It’s a bama Clemson thing

They have scooped up all the talent and the cfp as a byproduct has basically been a recruiting commercial for those two programs And everyone is falling behind

I’ve seen LSU lose to Notre Dame, Wisconsin, etc. auburn to ucf for god sakes. The rest of the country has good teams but it’s a huge gap from the top two depth wise. Huge

I was a huge fan of the four team playoff and didn’t want it to change. But now I’m changing my tune. I think of it like a g5 school joining p5 conference. The g5 school will never have the talent. But once they join a big 12 they will eventually recruit better players than they ever would have gotten in the sun belt

We need an 8-16 team playoff in my opinion. College football would be considerably better with all regions involved. The west coast is dying football wise. But if we can get more schools getting meaningful wins in big games maybe we can spread this talent out

I’m telling you if we go another 4 years with bama and Clemson playing each other people aren’t going to give a shite

But everybody WANTED the CFP so Bama wouldn't get in. Go to 8 or 16 and Bama is GUARANTEED to get in almost every single time. The talent gap is not nearly as wide as many think either. What are other schools doing to develop that talent? Most of the top 8 SEC teams have PLENTY of talent on their rosters to compete. When Bama started this initial push in 2008, and went 12-0 before the SEC Championship game, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, and several others had MORE talent on their rosters. That is coaching, development, and a little bit of injury luck.

Yes, it would be considerably better watching Clemson and Bama jackhammer teams like Iowa, Washington, TCU, etc. in totally unnecessary playoff games ultimately only prolonging the inevitable leading right back up to Clemson and Bama in the final game. The whole existence of the four team playoff was to redress the balance... and it still hasn't worked.

Some of you guys need to chill. Neither of these two teams are gonna stay atop the mountain forever.

Sold out stadiums AND TV money.
Money is the main reason the season the SEC dominates... pretty simple.

Kirby and Georgia to the rescue! Then maybe, just maybe Jimbo and his Texans can make something happen. And don't forget Mullen if he can keep enough of his Florida gangsters eligible. And maybe even LSU if they can quit bitching long enough and remove their heads from their rectums! Help is on the way.

Problem is it ain't the help the rest of the country wants. Football is a war like thing and something southern people do and support. And the great athletes are here (blacks). They wanted to compete and make money well have at it. Now the answer is to throw more cannon fodder at the SEC machine. LOL! Hollywood has the movies and the south has college football. It just be's that way.

Did not read....only glanced at it..I doubt 1 in 10 will read it.

CF has been and will always be slanted to favor the Have's. ND getting in the playoffs, is that not enough of flawed for you?

Cant disagree with much except the CFP, they needed the expansion to keep interest in the Midwest & Northeast.

The athletes are predominantly in the south, but the money is still heavy in the north. The powers that be don't care who wins, they care about sustained long term revenue & growth.

If ND, Penn St & Michigan can't at least sniff a CFP appearance there are problems everywhere.

Those who have fatigue probably don’t really like college football.

Proximity to the talent pool is cause of SEC success.. money is the effect.

Those are blue bloods with 100k seat plus stadiums. They will be fine. Most teams recruit regionally, while Saban recruits nationally. Look at their classes. Lots of players from New Jersey and Baltimore, for example. Once saban is gone, those players won’t go to Alabama.

That's BS. Georgia has had more 5 star players on the roster than Bama since last year.

It's not impossible for other teams to catch up. Most staffs just don't want to put in that kind of work.

They have talent to compete and compete only. No one is even with BAMA. UGA might be on even grounds IF they get one or two more top classes. Everyone else is woefully behind.

No, they don't. Look at recruiting ranking for the past 10 years. If you're are saying those teams have more talent than 2008 Bama that is a completely idiotic statement. Those teams still have to beat 2018 Bama and Clemson. Strangely you left UGA teams off your list.

BAMA's talent pool is amazing. I'm not hating, just pointing out the facts.
