I think A&M is going to get a lot better and quickly with the new coach and some of the talent coming in.

Who remembers when Ole Miss baseball scored 14 against Arkansas last year and still lost by 4?

Better? Agreed
Quickly? Agreed

A lot better? I say we wait and see here. A lot better means we gotta start knocking off some elite teams in this conference. Gunna be a blood bath again.

I remember when they came to Blue Bell and lost the series because Frizzel dropped like 5 HRs including a grand slam and a walk off.

That one was the end of the season. We just didn't know it yet.

Didn't yall sign and get 2 HS kids who were projected 1st round picks?

Not quite 1st rounders but the top lefty out of Texas (Hagen Smith) and the top righty out of Mississippi (Brady Tygart).

Both top 75 in Perfect game rankings.

We will see.

SS Peyton Stovall was the highest ranked guy in the class as he was the #1 player in LA. Supposed SEC ready power hitter.

We signed the Pitcher of the year out of Louisiana, Jack Walker and hes expected to be in the mix for a possible Sunday Starter role. Not the biggest guy 5'11" 205 but has command of 4 pitches and had a great fall.

Maxpreps 1st team all American

Walker finished with a 13-0 record and 121 strikeouts in 83.2 innings pitched. On top of that, Walker tossed three no-hitters, including one in the Class 5A semifinals against rival Sam Houston in a 10-inning game that Barbe won 1-0.

Mississippi State offensively just lost Tanner Allen and Rowdey Jordan (two great great players) but return lots of POP in C Logan Tanner, 3B Kam James, OF Kellum Clark (hit a couple bombs in Omaha) and 1b/C Luke Hancock. All capable of 10+ HRs

I keep saying I'm going to go to a College baseball series College Station when State plays out there. A good friend's son Signed with state this fall and will be there in 2023 and I might make some roadtrips with connections to player passes.

Love the passion for SEC baseball. Really all the SECW schools have great atmospheres.

Miss St. has got to be the early favorite for sure. Arky and LSU right up there.

A&M fans are just excited to welcome in the Coach Schlossnagle era.

Beyond those 6 who else is expected to make some noise in the SEC?

Hoping we can go .500 and make it back to Hoover/NCAAT

Pretty much this. Auburn has had so much turnover this year, I don't have a clue how they will be. But practice starts next week so looking forward to it.

Kinda want Bo to get caught stealing or something.

We've had to go out and get a bunch of transfers to fill out our roster after a pretty large exodus. Mingione is a dead man walking. I'm looking forward to baseball season regarded, because it's baseball. But seriously, I'll be shocked if Kentucky doesn't finish last this year. Playing with house money so to speak.

Missouri has that honor. They are to baseball what Vandy is to football. A school with no fanbase, terrible facilities and just not much interest in baseball.

Ole Miss is going to be great offensively and have suspect pitching.

Went ahead and bought season tickets. For $106, not a bad deal.

Just to provide some more information, the Rebs are expected to return:
- starting C Hayden Dunhurst (.280, 7 dingers, 43 RBI, best defensive catcher in the SEC)
- starting 1B Tim Elko (who had 16 dingers before going down with an injury in I think April)
- starting 2B Peyton Chatagnier (.271, 6 dingers
- starting 3B Justin Bench (.307, 7 dingers, 14 SB)
- starting SS Jacob Gonzalez (.355, 12 dingers, 55 RBI as a true freshman)
- starting LF Kevin Graham (.342, 14 dingers, 56 RBI)
- starting CF TJ McCants (.300, 5 dingers, 35 RBI, 11 SB as a true freshman)
- starting RF Hayden Leatherwood (.285, 7 dingers, 33 RBI)
