I'm a 3rd-party observer (LSU fan) without a huge dog in the fight... was pulling for Manning and don't care for Cam but also don't care about him that much either.
That being said, tribalism in sports is an unbelivably powerful thing. The hero worship among the different fanbases for former players is beyond insane.
