In the sales world, it happens a lot to protect a company from their clients being poached.
Ole Miss seemed to be worried that he'd be poaching their players, based on their boards.
So they do it because they believe their sales person is selfish, dishonest and would do more harm to the company than good if they stuck around?
I said a good reason - aka a reason that has to do with the employee being a good employee.

Same thing LSU fans said when I said Brian Kelly wasn't a good hire.
I think you just don't have a real response.

Poaching concerns are real and valid. But honestly, I think a more mature coach might have been able to make it work. Kiffin clearly can’t.

Sure, in some cases. Sometimes management gets pissed and just releases the employee. Just depends on the situation.
Either way, that is not an actual firing by definition, and it's pathetic to refer to it as such.
By all indications, Lane Kiffin would've been at Alabama the following season, if he wouldn't have taken a different job.

I don't disagree.
I think Lane is clearly immature and has some issues.

I mean, yeah. Kiffin is a top 5 offensive play caller. Ole Miss would have kept him if he hadn’t taken another job too. Point is, lots of coaches change jobs every year. Only Kiffin has the door slammed behind him.

In some cases?
Ok, name all the other coaches and finish the list in the OP then.

You were asking about employees but now it's coaches?
What are you even trying to argue right now.
I agree Lane is immature and has some issues, it's also cope to say he was fired.

You took it to being about employees and their 2 week notice. And I told you if the employer doesn't want them for the 2 weeks it's not for good reasons.

Sounds like you have a little butthurt too

What is the good reason a boss would do that rather than keeping them around for the next 2 weeks?
Not unheard of when you leave to go work for a competitor.
I've worked places where if you went to a competitor you had to clean out your desk that day and forego the two weeks.
I don't blame the Ole Miss AD for doing what he did considering where Lane bolted to.
I did hear Jimbo Fisher state on his radio show this week that Lane had no choice but to tell Ole Miss he was interviewing because to not do so would have opened him up to being fired for cause since notification is usually required by the contract. Basically, he couldn't hide his flirtation with LSU unless he asked LSU to wait until after the CFP to have an interview.
All of this is exactly why the NFL has the rules they have in place about when interviews can take place, especially around playoff time. College has no such rules. This will keep happening. The market always finds a way.

Sounds like you want to believe that to cope.

A better AD would have had a plan in place to keep his team with a fighting chance for the playoffs. That same better AD would have been working back channels to land a solid head coach if Kiffin left.
Carter clearly isn't that guy.

Apparently also involved in a lot of coverups.

Sometimes I wonder if you ever get out in the real world.

Maybe because he looks like Al Bundy?
