March Madness is the worst way to crown a champion. You want to give 3 and 4 loss teams equal shots at playing for a national title?
You're right. We should let committees decide. What's that? There's no reasonable way to decide which team is 4th best and which team is 5th best? Well, let politics handle it.

9 conference games, 1 P5 nonconference game, 1 rent a win, 1 bye week. 8 team playoff (16 if you could convince the conferences to dump the conference championship games, which would be difficult, and even if you could, should you?).
Shouldn't be too hard to schedule it where SEC teams who play 5 conference road games get their P5 opponent at home. With the 2 other OOC games you have 7 home games every year.

1. Get rid of divisions.
2. Play 9 SEC games annually.
3. Have 2 permanent opponents and rotate everyone else.
4. Top 2 teams play in SECCG.

Says the guy with no ooc rival or in state rival but will always have TAMU

It doesn't work for a lot of reasons.
1) the 9th conference game eliminates TV revenue, ticket sales revenue, and money for the college towns.
2) the 9th conference game doesn't eliminate cupcakes. The game is a home and home. Cupcakes are by definition home only games. Adding a 9th conference game is going to eliminate an OOC opponent good enough to merit a return trip
If the goal is to get teams to schedule better regular season games... then have them schedule better. The 9th conference game adds more "average" scheduling. Your team is most likely to play more games against Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss St, Mizzou, and Arkansas. It doesn't add more compelling games. Just more games.
I'd rather have the flexibility to schedule Clemson, Notre Dame, Washington, Penn State, and other name programs than traveling to Mississippi State.
If you don't like your schedule, complain to your AD. Not the conference office.
If the goal is to see conference teams more often, then solve that problem. UGA shouldn't be forced to play Vandy, Kentucky, Mizzou and South Carolina every year. Let's sacrifice those annual matchups so we can rotate the other teams faster.

I’m 100% for this despite the fact that it’s very likely LSU’s permanent opponents would be A&M and Arkansas. Maybe Ole Miss if we’re lucky.

Frick it, let's eliminate the SECCG and OOC games and have 13 conference games.

im only for a 9 conference game if it means we get to play Florida and Tennessee more often.
this is our current rotation for playing Florida and Tennessee
2018 Vs Tennessee
2025 @ Tennessee
2019 @ Florida
2024 Vs Florida
if not for A&M and Mizzou joining the conference we would've made the return trip to Gainesville in 2012 instead of 2019

Against it. Get rid of the damn permanent opponent instead

What I would do is add 15th team and do 4 permanent opponents and rotate other 10 teams home and home basis
