They shouldn't expand the playoffs, but drop it down to 3.
Their hasn't been 4 elite teams in the playoffs since it started.
The 1 seed gets a bye and plays the winner of the 2 vs 3 game.

Expanding the playoff isn’t going to create change at the top. Bama will still be in it no matter how many games you make them play in a playoff.

Maybe OSU could try to play more than 8 games in their season.

How about a 16 game playoff? That way, when they put ND in there, it won't matter so much.

Its too easy to solve. Have an 8 game regular season to determine seeding.
Then a 128 team, 7 round playoff. The only fair way to shut everyone up... except team 129 and 130 in FBS who whine about being left out
Teams that don't make the sweet 16 go to bowl games.

No one does.
Go back to the BCS computer formulas and replace the Harris and Coaches poll components with the committee.
4 is sufficient. More than 6 would be ridiculous. Top teams shouldn't have to risk injury in BS blowout games with 8+ teams in a CFP.

We had 3 blowouts with only 4 teams. Why would more bad games be good?

Let me 'splain what happened. The reason tOSU beatdown Clemson is because Clemson prepares all season, every season, for Bama, and had nothing for tOSU. And the reason Bama beatdown tOSU is because tOSU spent this season preparing for Clemson and had nothing for Bama.

Ok snowflake, based on the AP rankings your 8 team playoff is in effect for the 2020 season. Round 1
1) Alabama vs 8)Cincinnati- Bwahahaha!!
2) Clemson vs 7) Georgia- I’ll take Georgia in a close one.
3) Ohio State vs 6) Oklahoma- Buckeyes probably don’t make it out of round 1. OU wins a track meet 45-42.
4) Notre Dame vs 5) Texas A&M- Settle it on the field. Aggie finds a way, 30-24
Round 2
1) Alabama vs 5) A&M- Bama has too much firepower and Mond gonna Mond. Bama in a closer game than before but same results.
6) Oklahoma vs 7) Georgia- Good matchup. Oklahoma wins a close one.
Round 3
1) Alabama vs 6) Oklahoma- Oklahoma has no answers for the Alabama machine. Bama in a route.
Results the same, only Ohio State doesn’t even make it out of round 1. Try not to melt even harder.

I was thinking the same thing. Make the season a giant playoff bracket. Don't worry about conference schedules anymore and be ready to jump on a plane and go anywhere the next week.

Any expansion of playoffs would have to reduce regular season or eliminate conf title games
