Wow, that's my entire lifetime. I do hate to see it end, even as a person from Georgia Alabama- LSU was one of those games we always watched, along with games like Oklahoma-Nebraska, Michigan-Ohio State, Notre Dame-USC among a few others.
It sucks but like the first response says, the times they are a changing

the best thing about college football has been destroyed: tradition. Rivalries, putting logos on uniforms n fields, changing the names of bowl games to ridiculous corporate crap, blasting bass-filled rap music every fricking down instead of bands, hometown dudes playing for their teams, etc.

As a hard core Bama fan, I strongly dislike AU and Tennessee, but LSU is different. Bama - LSU has produced some absolutely great games, and I think the teams respect each other. I think the fans do too, although they rarely admit it on this website. I will deny ever saying this, but I respect LSU football too, and it is a shame they are ending the series.

As a bama fan I have grown to truly love and appreciate this game. Growing up in the 70’s it was Tennessee and Auburn games for me. Then the 80s came, Bear died, I bought a 71 Hemi Cuda, joined the Marines and my priorities changed. It wasn’t until Saban got to LSU where this game started to peek my interest. Now, it’s the game I most look forward to, win or lose. I am truly sad to see this one go away just so we can keep playing shite arse teams like Auburn and state.

For the love of God can we please trade A&M as our permanent opponent and get Alabama back.

It's my favorite game to attend. For 99% of the fans, it's just the right amount of venom and most fans just want to have a lot of fun all day. It's also in the perfect time of year, almost never hot. And it hasn't rained much really over the years.

Alright, make Auburn and A&M be permanent opponents and LSU/Alabama be permanent and this problem is solved.

All this does is make me miss college football before 14-team conferences, transfer portals without sit-out years, NIL and mercenary players, and 24-team playoffs.
I don’t think everyone really gets just how good we had it just yet, and by the time enough folks realize it, it will be too late…

This is expansions fault. Teams in this league have already lost their rivalrys or fun games, now expanding more, the leagues favorite teams are losing theirs. Id feel bad but this is what CFB wanted.
Similar to the NFL. Is a reason and the schedule shoukd be based on records from the previous season.
