Both schools having their best teams in the same season is wild.

Nice, subtle try, but ultimately a swing and a miss.

Not going to lie, I hate that the series is ending. That LSU may not be a "traditional rival" is probably a good thing. This game lacks the toxicity of those games and to be honest always had a better environment for it.

Neither school or the conference is better for having this game off the calendar, it's been must watch football for the past 25 years. It's an especially stupid decision considering this game is always one of the most watched regular season games in the country.

Now catch me on Saturday evening if Bama loses big and you may get a "good riddance" out of me, but come next year, I'll miss this matchup.

The path to Atlanta ran through this game for a decade and a half.

Both sides knew every year that it was the door through which they had to walk to have the season mean anything.

Cant win the west unless you beat LSU.

Cant win the SEC unless you win the west.

Before the expanded playoff you couldn't win a NC unless you won the SEC.

Stakes couldn't have been higher.

And while every LSU fan hated Bama I never had more free food or drinks offered than I did in Baton Rouge once they realized you could take a joke, give one back and respected their program.
