LSU is never our Super Bowl, don’t flatter yourself. Every team in the SEC west does not consider their game against LSU their “Super Bowl”. Yes it’s a big game for State fans, and yes it’s been a good rivalry lately between State/LSU on the field, LSU leads the series 4-3 in the last 7 years, but with that said....

LSU is and never has been our Super Bowl. I see LSU, Auburn and A&M all on the same level as far as perception or your “Super Bowl” metaphor goes. Every year I believe there is a chance we could beat 1 or 2 of those 3 teams, and one does not stand above the other. If we can beat all 3 like in 2014, you know you have a special season.

Ole Miss tells themselves that LSU is the Super Bowl to degrade MSU in their minds and upgrade their beloved Ole Miss in their minds. One thing you know know about Ole Miss and their herd if you have any rebels in your family or spent any real time living in the State or Mississippi... Ole Miss and their fans care ~90% about their perception, primarily nationally and more specifically, on the recruiting trail, and only 10% about actual results, and that may be generous. They are a very self conscious bunch, and they employ their journalists and mouth pieces to spread their propaganda to try and preserve their perception from the old times that are not forgotten. In their minds, they are still the pre integration Ole Miss that their Grandpappy’s and Big Diddy’s tell stories about and speak so fondly of, in many ways. But let’s face it, the Egg Bowl is the Super Bowl for both Mississippi teams. All you have to do is watch an Egg Bowl, and you will clearly see that this is each teams true Super Bowl. Ole Miss’s little man syndrome game is STRONG, though.

TAMU, lately it seems LSU might be their Super Bowl. Obviously, they tucked tail and ran from their real Super Bowl against Texas. So yes, they are looking for a new Super Bowl, as you say. Since LSU needs someone to consider themselves as their Super Bowl to stroke their enormous egos this might be a match made in heaven, plus TAMU loves stroking pretty much anything, especially if it’s enormous. Should be a good rivalry going forward.

Arkansas, like Ole Miss, they want LSU to be their super bowl, but let’s be honest, Arkansas’s Super Bowl lately has been the 1 or 2 SEC teams they think they could possibly have a chance to beat every year. Arkansas and Ole Miss has been a good series lately, but I can say with complete confidence that neither fan base would ever consider each other their Super Bowl. Arkansas is the extremely watered down version of LSU, no natural rival and decent historical success. (yes LSU has had way more, thus, watered down)

Bama??? Lololol. When you have only won one game against a team in the last decade, they do not consider you their Super Bowl, they consider you an auto W, just saying. Alabama’s super bowl is the Iron Bowl, and more times than not, if they win that game they are in the playoffs.

LSU fans think so highly of themselves. Take that magical 2019 season away where stars aligned and the cheating/misconduct had not yet caught up to them, and LSU looks like a middle tier SEC team in the last 8-9 years or so. A middle tier SEC team is not considered anyone’s super bowl, unless it is a hated in state rival with year long bragging rights on the line everyday within your family, friends, school, neighborhood, work place and church. LSU has a monopoly on the State of Louisiana, thus no natural rival. Truly great CFB rivalries are based on one thing, bragging rights amongst the people you see, live and work with everyday. If that is not on the line, it’s not a true rivalry, just a good matchup.

With all this said, I could argue that in fact LSU is NOBODY’S “Super Bowl”
