why the hell would saban leave a program he has on cruise control right now. He's at the top right there with Les in the most dominant conference in the country.

Why did he leave LSU after the 2004 season? Wasn't it pretty much on cruise control too?
Why did Spurrier leave Florida after the 2001 season? I believe it most definitely was on cruise control.
Simple answer: Saban and Spurrier don't think like the average fan does. They live for challenging themselves and nothing else. Their only loyalty is to themselves.
