Kevin warren may not be done.

quote:

Does the Big Ten look further into the possibility of a western wing? If the league wanted to, it could look both to the Pacific Northwest & the Bay Area. That could give the conference inventory for the Saturday late-night TV time slot — a fourth window:

(which then could be yet another TV package to negotiate and add)

Speculation on this is the B1G would pick up an additional $200-300 million.

I doubt the B1G would even have to add any more west coast schools to do this.

Usc and ucla are largely irrelevant.

The last time USC was relevant, LA didn't have an NFL team much less a Super Bowl defending champ. We'll see how relevant they are if Riley gets them going.

I can't remember how UCLA was treated the last time they were relevant because it was so long ago.

you could say that for most of the big 10.

If Warren continues to get the Marylands, Rutgers, and UCLAs of college football, he will soon be in dire need of a 5th window.

More relevant than Texas and Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley proved that.

USC and UCLA are 2 of the biggest brands in college sports. Look for big things from both of them after they enter the B1G.

The next generation of rust belt people will be southerners, because Midwesterners won't stop moving here. There will be like 4,000 people in Michigan in 20 years.

Big10 boxed themselves in a corner.

Added 2 teams are a killer for travel both ways for football but even worse for all other sports. Will hurt the 2 added teams recruiting with potential of cold games and travel. Recruits could just join a midwest team instead.

If B10 adds more Pac teams and make it a division its the same thing as last year - west coast teams that no one watches unless late night drinking needing some background noise. This model adds no value to TV.

What a disaster this will be.

No one watched Pac games but that will change once they join the B1G.

As far as travel, it does not seem to bother the NFL to travel from coast to coast. Being a national conference leads to innovation. They will work it out and for the Olympic sports too.

I'm sure the SEC is terrified of the B1G adding Oregon and Washington.

Who cares who is terrified? This move will only happen if it makes the B1G more money. Like I said above, the B1G is being innovative.

The only thing he proved was that he was scared of competition. The move to the SEC was the main reason he left.

Go ahead - expand your footprint. The big 10 will still be the Canadian football league of college sports

Sounds like he's trying to make the BIG even worse than it is now.
