Since football is still the bread winner of the program, Sam should be getting paid more than Cal.

You were talking about when Richardson was coaching and Nutt was the football coach and Frank was AD.

Frank’s gone and Tyson is buying this coach. Totally different deal.

Any other basketball coach wouldn’t have gotten Tyson money.

Did Arkansas run Muscleman out of town or was it mutual?

Arkansas Basketball
Yawn ... No argument here.

I got to watch the Sidney Moncrief and the other triplets (Ron Brewer, Marvin Delph) play in the late 70's. Texas had a good team, until ...

One of my favorite Abe Lemons Quotes:

"Would you be afraid to play anyone of had them ("The Triplets")?"

"If I had 'em, I wouldn't be afraid of the Marines!"

Some things, you never forget.

Not the same as going to Omaha at all.

It's a little different because the 1-seed gets to host the Regional (first and second round) and Super Regional (Sweet 16). Playing half the tournament on your own court would change the tournament dramatically. Baseball is just a more chaotic sport by nature, like how basketball is more so than football, so that keeps the baseball tournament from being predictable.

It's crazy to think that OU won at Arkansas and at Michigan this year. It's all about matchups I guess.

Teams get better or worse as the season goes on. OU got worse. Pretty simple.

OU's last 4 SEC games were win vs Missouri, win at Texas, win vs Georgia, and a 1 points loss vs Kentucky. If that's getting worse I'll take it I guess.

OU was 16-5 at the end of January. From then on OU went 4-9. That’s getting worse.

Arkansas started SEC play 1-6. Finished the season out going 7-4. That’s getting better at the right time.

Streak is over. How many natty banners have they hung? They used to suck me in every year, then it hit me that the reason they never go the distance is because they aren't battle tested. The grind that is the SEC regular season, sets up AU, AL, TN, and FL for a championship run.

Nate Oats has a chance to match this tomorrow. Arky is a legit Final Four type team now. Cal is back to doing his thing.

Kinda mutual. We had a top 3 class last year and ended up with a losing record. According to local sports people Mussleman had always told our AD that after a few years he would be looking to move out West again to be closer to family. When the USC job came open he called Hunter Yurecheck and said he be taking the job if offered. After the season we had just had he didn’t try very hard to keep him if at all. USC is a lateral move at best. The don’t care about basketball at all.

Worked out for all sides especially once Cal was hired. Most people thought we were gonna try hard to get Beard then once he took the Old Piss job there was a little bit of panic.

Loved Abe Lemons at Texas. Also remember the team with Lasalle Thompson and Wacker, which won most every game until Wacker got hurt and then couldn't hardly win a game after. It taught me how much 1 player can mean to a team.

Baxter was a PF from LA, and Krivacs, a transfer from Auburn, I think, averaged 20+, before they had a 3 pt shot.

Johnny Moore was an NBA PG from NY, and we had a future Harlem Globe Trotter.

Arkansas still won. Texas brought out the best in Moncreif.

No shame in losing to that team.

I couldn’t remember Johnny’s last name. He was a stud! Great teams! Houston had our number, we had yours, and y’all had Houston’s. I believe the SWC had 3 of the top 10 teams in the country back then.
