Oxford, College Station, Auburn, Athens. FWIW The rest of the SEC towns were said to have sucked major donkey balls.

I've never been to Oxford so I can't comment. Athens is great. College Station and Auburn on the other hand suck harder than a Hoover.

Within ANY/ALL college town lists you will find oxford and athens. Now the other two in this one are a little far fetched.

Anyone else not get the Oxford hype? Seems just Auburn to me. Except in Auburn you can buy cold beer.

As far as what there is and isn't to do on a football weekend, sure.

But what makes Oxford great isn't just the Grove and the Square during a home game weekend.

The writer must have gotten lost in the Ozarks looking for Fayetteville.

Any place where the bars close at midnight is not a place I want to be for too long.

I guess this yo-yo brain has not experienced the local bar scene in Baton Rouge, the casinos, some of the most beautiful golf courses and parks in the country, the gorgeous state capital grounds, one of the most renowned municipal zoos in the nation, downtown and LSU museums and galleries, and ante-bellum plantations and other tourist sites, one of the largest malls in the South, and wonderful restaurants.
And of course there is one more thing that BLOWS AWAY every other college town in America = by far the best food and tailgating anywhere.....as well as the loudest and most deafening college football venue on the planet.....

Having been to Burlington, VT, I can say its pretty killer. Its too damned cold, though. But their downtown reminds me of Boulder. It also sits right on Lake Champlain, which is beautiful. Lots of ski bums and

For starters, that's only four nights of the week (grasping for straws), and this list wasn't compiled based on those sorts of things.

But you know that already.
