4 of Saban's 6 national titles at Alabama were with a first year starting QB.

That is actually pretty interesting.

Does this include when Tua took over for hurts or no?

No.

McElroy - 2009
McCarron - 2011
Coker - 2015
Jones - 2020

McCarron in 2012 and Hurts in 2017 are the other two.

I don’t think anyone is questioning Bama. Ever.

evidently not, but that could arguably be another one.

2009 was McElroy's first year to start
2011 was McCarron's first year
2015 was Coker
2020 was Mac Jones

Yeah I wouldn't count it either since it was Hurts starting all year but could definitely see the argument to include it since they don't win that game without him.

Odd/impressive stat for Saban.

You are the LSU version of Daniel. Congrats.

I'm not sold on BY, smallest QB to start for Bama in a long time, plus he's already got dollar signs floating in his head. Coker would not haven been half as good if Kiffen wasnt there.

It may indicate that they are motivated to make a name for themselves. It is hard to keep the successful motivated

Saban doesn't strike me as the guy to have a problem with keeping guys motivated

You could make that agrument with LSU coaches with the last 3 all winning 1 title. Although Saban left for the NFL and O is still coach. Maybe we should start letting head coaches go in the offseason following their first natty.
