All of his keys are what Texas needs to happen for them to win.

It's hot? Both teams are ready for that.

Can Texas hit some big plays? Probably not because the running game will be non-existent due to lack of depth at RB for them. Basically one-dimensional from the get-go.

What about the LSU defense's havoc rate? I'm sure it's not dog shite.

Texas will bring their A game? I guess we should just go home because we are coming in believing we are playing McNeese St.

You may not be aware that ESPN is contractually obligated to promote longhorn athletics - as it is written in the Longhorn Network contract

there seems to be a whole lot of talk about this game being an absolute blood bath that I don't quite get.

Our fans are putting WAY too much stock on how we each looked vs the sun-belt opponents we faced in week 1. Those games are meaningless.

CFB is funny

Emotions/confidence are huge factors and things you never expect would happen, do happen.

I have no idea whats going to happen tomorrow and I will not be shocked at all if UT pulls the upset.

I just don’t think tu’s offense is good enough to score of Lsu consistently. This short passing game is not going to work well enough.

I don’t believe in Lsu’s “New spread” (welcome to 2008), but tu’s defense is average at best. They lost a ton. Lsu should be able to move the ball.

That's kind of my thought. It's going to be tough for anybody to score much on LSU if you have to rely on 10-12 play drives to do it. If you can't make any explosive plays your only shot is to consistently win field position, start near midfield and convert.

That's a tough, tough ask with a very slim margin.

Texas will make a few explosive plays.

The game will be decided when LSU has the ball.

Where is the evidence for these "feelings"? I see no evidence of that with any offense with a pulse they played last year at all.

I see four teams they played with an offense of any kind last year. Bama (L), Georgia (W - 4 turnovers), A&M (L - 7 OT with 74 points), and UCF (W - UCF put up 32)

Their defense dominated State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Rice.

People are talking about their defense like it's an early Les Miles era defense. I don't think it is.

A&M with big plays by pass catchers making plays down the field and a dominant running game. Show me where tu is going to do that.

This is the most talented LSU D since 2011. LSUs 2 starting CBs and starting free Safety will be first round picks. Lawrence, Fehoko, Shelvin, Ika, and possibly Logan will be drafted. Chaisson will likely be a first or second round pick. We are 4 deep at ILB and all 4 could eventually be drafted. This LSU team is absolutely loaded on D.

Will the refs let the LSU D play SEC style ball? The SEC is known for tough, hard hitting, aggressive ball play defense. The big xii not so much. I'm afraid there may be a lot of PI, targeting, and unsportsmanlike flags thrown against LSU. That alone can alter the result of the game.

If the refs let them play, I don't see Texas being able to hold up under the relentless pressure from the LSU D.

Well you’d be wrong. I wouldn’t expect you to know what a real defense looks like though since the only time you’ve ever seen one was back in 2003 when we whooped your arse in the Championship. That was a while back so you might not remember.

You don't think Johnson and Eagles can make plays downfield?

Well then show me what real defense looks like from your body of work last year. I'm ready to see how you shut down any legit offenses.

So? Isn't it pretty much the same guys you had last year outside of Chaisson?

They absolutely can just don’t think they will.

Delpit- top 10 pick
Fulton- first round pick
Stingley- future top 5 pick

What does a projected NFL draft round pick have to do with this game?

Your own coach said in his press conference you can't play single man on Johnson. I don't care what a projected future NFL draft pick says. You're not gonna win every down playing man on Johnson or Eagles and it's tough to bring either of them down with just one guy.

Biggest difference is a deeper and more healthy Dline. Last year we played a 290 pound Nose. This year we rotate 2 330 plus NGs. Which in turns moves that 290 pound guy to his natural position at DE to go along with a finally healthy stud in Lawrence at the other end. We’ll play 6/7 guys in those 3 spots when last year in some games we played 4.

I'm not beating my chest for UT. I'm questioning all these narratives and talky-talk out there suggesting that LSU's defense is similar to an early Miles era defense in spite of any supporting evidence. Your players are chirping and so are most of you on here. I'm just curious about the origins of all the bravado.

Having really good players helps slow other really good players down. Pretty easy to understand.
