Point is UA players get arrested as often as most other SEC schools but it does not get reported.

Of course I don't have a link. The arrest would have to be reported first.

Eddie Williams got arrested on a gun charge and it went unreported and would not have been reported if he did not get arrested again.

Your a bigger fool than the plethora of apologists up in this thread if you don't think somebody in the athletic department was called as soon as they were identified as Tahd FB players.

There is no way to know that. The gun arrest was a fairly minor charge and happened on a Sunday. Not strange that the media didn't pick up on it for a few days given the state of media staffing. A reporter who searches public records for arrests would have to know who Eddie Williams is and would have to recognize him during a search of mugshots.

Which, if true, would have been sometime during the day or evening on Monday based on the time of the incidents, the investigation and the arrests.

The arrests were reported the next day.

Should the AD alert the media when players get in trouble?

Of course not. I am taking a shot at the media not the AD office.

No it's AU fans mocking the hypocrisy that permeates from a large portion(not all) of the Alabama fanbase. no one thinks it will be Sabans undoing

For you folks, that defend everything Tide, hate the NtY (who has never posted a negative Bama comment unless you count Fbaum). how do you feel about the growing thug mentality at Bama... From the Capstone Report:

Liner is a 6-foot-2, 275-pound defender, and a prized get for ****** and his fighting *****. But after a string of off-the-field incidents involving current, former and yet-to-be A***** players, Liner seems to be yet another component to the building thug mentality that is quickly becoming A***** football.

Who the heck is at the wheel ***?

I guess it could have been intentional, but it seems very realistic that the media just didn't know about the Eddie Williams arrest for the gun charge. The other arrests were reported in a pretty timely manner, IMO.

I'm not a media defender, but I don't see any type of attempted cover up or unusual bias with this story.

meh, when the shoe is on the other foot it's part of the rivalry. i've been witness to several shite slinging expeditions by bama fans, all it is to get a rise out of auburn fans...consider this imitation if that helps you deal with it. It's the off season and neither of our teams are worth a shite in basketball, what do you expect auburn and bama fans to bitch about.

Do you really think Saban finds out about the arrests of his football players from the freaking media??? Assuming that my theory is true, why did Saban wait until Tuesday to suspend Williams? Because NOBODY knew about it and it could have been swept under the rug, but the idiot decides a good follow up to his gun charge would be to go out and rob multiple people.

Shades of Penn State/Sandusky here. Cover, cover, ....oh shite!

I see its the usual NtY rats in here loving every minute of this,,,,why am I not suprised......I guess 3-wins and the AU thug life which permeated the Chizik regime gives them something to celebrate. Having said that, these four guys all need to go. Thug p.o.s all of them......no excuses
Why the hell are you throwing stones at AU when we got our own thugs right now?

There is a large portion(not all) of Au fans who aren't mocking and seem pretty serious. There are plenty of ITAT and NtY'ers in here.

In some cases, probably.

Assuming Saban was told about the Williams gun arrest as soon as it happened (which is unlikely), it isn't a charge that would normally warrant a suspension. Even if it were, it is something I would think most coaches would handle with the player after the weekend. Additionally, you have no idea when Williams was suspended. You only know when Saban released a statement to the media.

Saban doesn't generally comment on discipline unless asked. He could have as easily suspended him Monday without calling attention to the incident to the media.

I don't know many coaches that would call the media and say a player is suspended before it's gotten out that he's been arrested.

That's flat out idiotic.
