Maybe this:

LSU - Florida, Ole Miss, A&M

Bama - Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee

For SC: UGA, Kentucky, and whoever for the 3rd opponent.

UGA fans would rather have Tennessee right? I’m sure they don’t want the big 6 to all have each other as their 3 permanents but honestly it’s what they should do. Too many good yearly rivalries to split them all up.

Georgia hardly ever played Tennessee until 92 when they got placed in the same division. Not really a rival.

Auburn fans would love UGA, Bama and UF. Give me the great games! Im not driving down to JHS and cram my arse in with 90k people to watch us beat up on Mizzou because it makes it easier to win a championship. Auburn has always had the toughest schedule and the most good rivalries so i want all the smoke!

This is true. Despite being founding members of both the Southern and Southeastern Conferences and the 142 miles separating Neyland and Samford Stadiums (as the crow flies), the Dawgs and VOLS played just 20 times before the original expansion. It's honestly baffling.

Conference schedules used to be more limited but they played more major opponents out of conference. Look back through the historical records and you find years with only 5 or 6 SEC opponents.

For Auburn, what about Bama/UGA/TENN, kind of a return to the old Amen Corner (Florida could I guess be traded for TENN).

If Florida gets UGA, plus TENN, they might not want to have Auburn as well.

TENN with Bama/Auburn/Florida might work for them, keeps Bama rivalry, restores the Auburn game and keeps them playing in Florida for recruiting.

My idea contains 6 perms & 3 rotating where all rivalries are annual. It also doesn't need tie-breakers to be created. And instantly determines the SECCG members that WON'T have the same 2 teams until, possibly, every 3 years.

Yet nobody wants to acknowledge that history in scheduling.

4X4 pods with 1 perm in each of the other 3 pods. Therefore NO rivalry is impacted from being annual.

You and I are on the same page. As a Dawg fan my priorities for every season are, and always have been, in this order:
1. Beat Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech
2. Win the SEC East
3. Win the SEC championship
4. Win postseason game(s). If that includes playing for a natty, so be it. Even with a 4 team playoff, it's still mythical.
Life's much less stressful and more enjoyable that way.

Sure, you can ignore it, but it that doesn't mean it makes sense to pair State with Oklahoma and South Carolina, teams which are entire states away from Starkville and which the Dawgs have absolutely no history with.

We think alike. IDGAF about the playoff or the national perception of our conference. I want to play our rivals (and hopefully whip their arse), play other conference members, and see us play national opponents as well.

Word on the street is that Mississippi State's three will be Ole Miss (rival), Kentucky (current permanent) and Texas A&M (new permanent). Ole Miss would be State, LSU and Vanderbilt.

This is going to get the Mississippi schools to vote with the Big 6 and go 3-6.

There’s zero chance Ole Miss walks away with State and Vanderbilt as permanent opponents. What a cake walk that would be.

Trouble for LSU is I want to keep the OM, Arkansas, and UF games at a minimum. This whole expansion is going to lead to some weird permanent opponent pairings.

“The posts in this site”!
Lol

People keep posting they want the pods, to some how speak it into reality… to be correct.
When Multiple times since January Sankey has for the most part rules pods as an idea, but not really close to the favorite.

Try posting in your native tongue, then we can use Google Translate. Your posts might make more sense that way.

Ehh, there's a better chance than you think. We are certainly keeping State, Vandy is our third most-played opponent, and we are Vandy's second most-played opponent.

To be frank, they haven't been a cakewalk for us, historically. Our combined record against them is 118-81-7.

I'd bet my house that if they go to a 3-6 model, Ole Miss ends up with State and Vanderbilt.

Its pretty much been said that in this model, teams would keep their current permanent (Ole Miss-Vandy).
