LSU had a 47 yard TD run with 3:20 left in the game. You don't get to count that 47 yards. It was garbage-time points. So LSU only had 269 total yards of offense. SEC DEFENSE, BITCHES!!!

Why was A&M playing prevent defense on Hill's 47 yard run?

You can't be this dumb.

You forgot they their kicker missed a 50+ yard field goal that he generally makes with his eyes closed. Those points were on the board, he just screwed up.

Drive Chart for A&M

12 Plays - Rushing TD
12 Plays - FG Made
9 Plays - Punt
6 Plays - Punt
7 Plays - FG Made
3 Plays - INT
5 Plays - Fumble
1 Play - End Of Half

6 Plays - Punt
6 Plays - INT
5 Plays - Punt
4 Plays - FG Missed
3 Plays - FG Missed
5 Plays - INT
9 Plays - Rushing TD
2 Plays - Fumble (End Of Game)

8 straight possessions between scores after you went up 12-0. You missed both a 50 yard FG and a ridiculous chip-shot FG. Neither were successful drives, as one stalled out around the 40 and the other went 2 yards thanks to a Special Teams Return.

Sandwiched around the half, you had 3 of 4 possessions end with a TO and also threw in a punt for good measure.

Your offense didn't muster more than a 9 play drive for points after the 2nd scoring drive on your 2nd possession of the game. You weren't moving it at will by any stretch.

Stop the Insanity, Aggies.

We can settle this easily. Let's look at the 3rh quarter play-by-play from ESPN starting AFTER Minter's interception.

The score: 14-12 (arse beating)

LSU takes the interception to their own 40. The drive stalls at the A&M 37. Field goal misses.

A&M takes over at their own 37 and the drive stalls at the LSU 49. Punt

LSU takes over at the LSU 6. 3rd and 5 at the LSU 11. End of Quarter.

Still 14-12

LSU punt to the LSU 48

A&M takes over at the LSU 48. Drive stalls at the LSU 34. 52 yard field goal attempt misses.

LSU takes over at the LSU 34. 13:32 left in the game.... STILL 14-12. (out of reach, I tell ya) LSU drives the length of the field to the A&M 11. Stalls. Field goal good.

Score 17-12 with 8:35 left in the game (oh boy. it's over now).

Trey williams takes the kickoff back 76 yards to the LSU 16. Drive stalls at the LSU 14. 33 yard field goal MISSES.

7:33 left in the game. 17-12 (arse beating)

LSU gets the ball at the LSU 20 and the drive stalls at the LSU 46.

Still 17-12 with 4:55 left in the game.

A&M gets punt. Touchback. Start at the 20. Intercepted and returned to the A&M 47.

Still 17-12 with 3:20 left in the game. (it's over. Done. arse beating)

LSU breaks off a 47 yard td run.

24-12 with 3:12 left in the game. (no chance in hell A&M can come back here. This is garbage time).

A&M score to make it 24-19 with 1:55 left in the game. Key feature of this drive. the biggest play was from the LSU 32 to the LSU 5. WHY IN THE frick WAS YOUR TEAM IN PREVENT INSIDE YOUR OWN 40? That's simply bullshite. You were not in prevent, or if you were, fire that DC RIGHT NOW.

So, with 1:55 left in the game 24-19. A&M has NO CHANCE. It's a total blowout. Because no team has EVER got the onside kick and scored in 2 minutes. Especially not this type of offense.

Please tell me which points or stats didn't matter? Explain why your DC was in fricking prevent with 3:20 left in the game. (he wasn't. that's bullshite).

Let me explain this to you. A prevent defense is designed to PREVENT a big play, and a quick score.

Dude, you need to stop because you are making the wrong argument.

You realize thats exactly what we did right? We quickly scored on your prevent defense in the fourth quarter. You dropped like seven guys and Manziel completed a long pass to about the 5-6 yard line right before we scored.

Think about it for a second, but don't hurt yourself.

...IT WAS A GODDAMN BLOWOUT. A&M didn't even belong on the same field.

A&M played well enough to be in position to win this game until LATE in the 4th Quarter. The play calling and strategy was good enough to win. I don't know anybody who accounts for a bunch of turnovers and missed kicks while game planning.

Let me just say this. Bama may beat the shite out of A&M and prove that A&M's offense is absolutely useless. LSU DID NOT. Y'all just can't accept it.

Congrats.

Not losing to LSU by double digits must be a great accomplishment for A&M.

Not really. Unfortunately we played down to our opponents level.

We did the exact same thing in 2010 against Bama in Tiger Stadium. We went up 24-14 and went into a soft defense with deep-zone coverage in the Secondary. We allowed them to score but made them chew up time. We beat them by pulling away late in the 4th quarter, but trust me, 24-21 indicates that we went into a prevent defense and allowed them to score the last time instead of giving up a big play on a busted coverage or overaggressive call that would leave more time on the clock if they got the ball back.

But somehow, when we do this against your team, this isn't the same?

Saying you scored "quickly" when there was about a half a quarter left is not using context. You burned the clock to the point that once we recovered the onside kick, you had less than 15 seconds and no timeouts and you were pinned deep in your own territory.

This discussion highlights the idiocy and simple lack of football knowledge from most A&M Fans.

Again like we've been saying all along yards don't matter, but I'll bite. After the minter int lsu out gained A&M 138 to 108 even with the 80 yard drive against lsu playing a soft D.

I said it earlier, Les plays for LSU to not lose the game, and it does not sit well with a lot of LSU fans. However, our talent alone will win games until we face a good team. It bit us against Florida, and it will bite us against Bama if that's how we play.

You're missing the point. LSU fans are discounting the final score. Are you saying that the Bama game was a total blowout in 2010? The final score was meaningless?

This game was 14-12 until 8:35 left on the clock in the 4th. A&M played good enough (strategically) to win, but missed some opportunities and made some mistakes. We don't really need to change much to beat LSU. We just need to protect the football and hit extra points and short field goals.

The premise of this entire thread was frick THE SPREAD. IT DON'T WORK IN THE SEC. LSU PROVED IT.

And that was enough time. Not ideal, but enough time to force A&M to try an onside kick, and then be left with 20 or so seconds to try to score a touchdown.

Imagine if we stay in our regular D, someone blows a coverage, and A&M scores on one or two plays. I believe they still had 2 or 3 timeouts, so they could have kicked it deep and got the ball back with a minute or so.

Did A&M play well enough to win this game strategically?

You act as though LSU didn't make mistakes. We missed a field goal, we missed 3 wide open receivers for TDs, and we had two crucial penalties on the last drive that kept A&M in the game.

This is completely false. You guys tried the deep pass numerous times. To say you guys were not trying to be aggressive is a complete fabrication. The problem was our defense held your QB to around 38% completions.

The only way you guys were going to score was by being gift wrapped great field position, which you were by our RB and freshman QB.

Look A&M fans have said you guys won the game and we aren't looking for moral victories, but you turds keep trying to reinterpret how that game actually went down.

Our loss had as much to do with our own young teams mistakes as it did your teams play.
