did not make the list.
When is the last time that a team won the College Football National Championship with a QB that wasn't ranked in the top 25 of returning QBs?
I think Bennett should've made the list but, regardless, it's pretty amazing. Especially given the fact that, in the title game, he beat a QB that was the Heisman winner.
Anyway, I'm thinking this is unique in the modern history of college football. If so, this speaks to coaching, imo. Maybe Coach Smart is better than some have given him credit for.
And frick Rudy - Stetson Bennett is the greatest underdog story in the history of college football.

Half your fanbase maintained that Stetson Bennett sucked until the 4th quarter of the national title game. Winning that didn’t all of a sudden make him a top QB. The rest of your team was absolutely amazing so y’all won in spite of him.

It’s just a popularity list. I mean Ewers is on it and the kid couldn’t break third string at tOSU

Maybe. But you'd think the QB that won Georgia's first National Championship in 41 years would be at least popular enough to make the top 25 QB list of returning quarterbacks.
I think it is unprecedented for a team to win the National Championship with such an unheralded QB. I can't think of another team that has done it since ... Buck Belue (which is somewhat ironic).

The kid as you call him has the heart of a lion and an iron will. He has been underestimated his entire career and it only provides motivation for him to beat the slop out of those who doubt him. This kid is a man. A real man. A man who is wearing a national championship ring and is likely to be wearing another one very soon.

I'll give it to you the UGA fans, that list of shite. A national championship winning quarterback belongs on that list.

I don't think he was referring to Bennett.

Yet you continue to peddle the idea that Georgia would have been better off with Daniels taking snaps in the title game.
Why?

Daniels is a great QB. But suffered one injury after another and missed a lot of practice time. He was never able to beat out Stetson who had dreamed of being UGAs QB since he was 3 years old. Stetson gave everything he had and then some to Georgia. You can’t measure heart and pure self determination and Stetson has it in spades. We couldn’t ask for a better QB

Mind linking the list or just posting (who was on) it?

JTD was our best QB until he got hurt. Bennett didnt care and he became a very good QB.

His 5 star WR tore his ACL last year. Didnt get too many snaps last year. Be thankful the Vols didnt get to experience a full strength UGA.

The bum couldn’t even win the SEC. He’s not deserving.

We will beat you next year. Watch. No one is scared of UGA.

I’ve heard that for almost 20 years now. It’s pretty amusing
