Pretty sure they are. Any dumbass can finance a $125k truck. Problem is actual payment and the repo man.

I see some of you say things like this constantly, do you really think LSU is out here signing contracts that they can't pay? Seriously?

Yea and I believe the Aggies had to pay a good bit more for their coach Elko.
Fisher 19.2m for buyout in 24
Elko 7m annual for 24
Elko duke buyout was around 5m
31m top end

Potentially. Why were they trying to shortpay Kelly initially? Why are they having to pay the buyout over a span of years? Why did Landry give that press conference where he seemed concerned over tax dollars getting sunk into LSU athletics contracts?

Most Alabama fans still remember Kiffin being told to clean his shite out and leave in the lead up to the national championship game. Most fans still blame Kiffin for costing Alabama that national championship. No sane Alabama fans want him back after screwing us once already.

There are multiple lawsuits in college football for exactly this.
It might explain why LSU and LSU fans are so adament about keeping public payments to players private and why the Louisiana news media has filed a joint suit to uncover what exactly is going on.

Because it'd be malpractice not to at least to attempt to negotiate.

Because that's how it's structured, per the contract. Most buyouts aren't a lump sum payout, hence the attempt to negotiate.

Political grandstanding, LSU fans were here telling all of you that, at the time, but trolling takes precedence over actually being accurate.
Louisiana law prevents tax payers from having to foot the bill on a coach's buyout apparently.

Lane(13,000,000) + Kelly (10,800,000) per year for one job opening.
LSU is paying Kelly 900 000 a month to golf and pretend like he's looking for work
Is 23.8 million a year the most ever paid for any one coaching job in any sport ever
I agree. Pretty impressive that LSU is able to do that. I guess they have plenty of $. Thanks for posting something positive.

Probably, but wasn't Auburn paying 3 buyouts at once between Malzahn, Harsin, and Freeze?
