Beautiful day for baseball. Hogs going for the sweep today. All 22 Bama fans in attendance are enjoying some good baseball.

I'm surprised at the crowd. Noon on a Saturday with picture perfect baseball weather and your team being good enough to make the tournament and there's no one there. fricking Gumps.

They aren't making any post season. Gaspard has deflated the fanbase. Even before playing this season in Hoover.

That's because no one cares. College baseball is such a waste of time because most of those players weren't even good enough to make it into the lowest ranks of the MLB farm system. I don't even know why it's considered a big collegiate sport. Football and basketball are on a completely different plain.

College baseball, I'd literally rather watch grass grow.

There are exactly zero people that care.

If Bama was worth a shite in it, the fanbase would be all over it. Same for basketball. The Gumps are just a bunch of frontrunning losers.

I hate when fans say this. Alabama baseball was once really fun to attend. In Jim Well's hey day it was a great atmosphere. It can be there again with the new facility and a reenergized fanbase.

Yeah David Price and Strasburg are just scraping by to get playing time. Remember that Cliff Lee guy? You know, the guy who won the Cy Young? Pitched at Arkansas.

About college baseball? Well slightly more than zero.

But nobody important cares.

I went to UA for four years and never attended a baseball game.

I've always kept up with it. Just been working too much on weekends to run any dedicated threads. Got the day off today, though.

Exceptions to the rule do not make them rules. For every baseball player that played in college and made it in the pros in the last 30 years or so, there are 200 more that didn't.

The fact of the matter is the best of the best, more often than not, go straight to the pros out of high school.

You think the numbers are smaller for football and basketball? Me thinks you need to check some numbers.

No. I'm sure they are about the same. But I am watching the second highest form of football/basketball when I am watching the college game. Only the professionals can claim to be better. With college baseball I am essentially watching high schoolers play for a university.
