Don't admit your real name here. Some of these crazies also post on the OT. You should expect 245 pizzas delivered to where you are right now by noon.

ETA: What's your address?

I know you were...he was pointing out that UGA fans' mantra is always that UGA is a much more elite academic school and that that reaches into the football program

your rebuttal was that Auburn didn't release their documents

Let's make fun of them. They'll never even know.

Better yet, let's make fun of those responsible for allowing them to graduate High School in the first place, or go from elementary to middle and then HS without the basic tools to be successful in this world of ours, the ability to read.

There are lots and lots of people that are complicit in damning kids to a world of failure as adults, be they the many educators who allowed them to move on to the next grade, or the parents themselves.

They didn't.

Quit posting in a damn thread about UGA's football players being illiterate. We already know Auburn won't admit to shite.

The bottom line with regard to this subject is that until we, the consumers of the entertainment these kids provide, stop consuming said entertainment this will never stop.

We cause this.

The question is do universities care enough about the integrity of their school to allow this? Apparently Georgia doesn't and I imagine it's that way among many if not all of the historical powerhouses.

I think it's perfectly fine to have different standards for athletes. Look at what each student can bring to the university individually...diversity, art, culture, academics, musical talents, creativity etc.

Anyway it's not like every degree is equally valuable from each university.

These are entry requirements that this thread is about. These kids get into UGA, and some aren't "college Literate" at the time, and then we graduate them. That's how good we are at academics. Taking dumb people and making them college graduates is something we should be proud of.

I'm good with this. But, shouldn't the basic standard be that you can read, write and have a decent mastery of the English language?

How many of these "grads" are hireable at good job withtout their football connections and instead on their own merits?

There's a lot of in between you're missing here. Just because you hand them a diploma doesn't mean they've done the work and learned. There's a lot of assistance given to student athletes..

I grew up in a inner city school that is ranked right now 3 out of 10. The middle school was a 2. There is little to no hope to turning this around and it is sad.

I sometimes wonder why we even go through this process of cfb to begin with. Just drop the college part, turn the football programs into sports clubs and have a minor league football system. they can rent the stadium's from the universities and pay players. They can still call themselves the Bulldogs, Tigers, whatever. I've got a sneaking suspicion they'd still make money and the concussion lawsuit liability would be reduced.

Have you listened to the words that come out of many of their mouths? I don't think demonstrating just a basic proficiency in mastering the English language for a college student is too much to ask.
