Aside from letting MSU just drive in for layups every trip down the court I’m not sure what could have been done to adapt to that many fouls being called.
Congrats on the win, I hope we shake it off because we can be much better than that.

Drive to the basket yourself and get some of the ticky tack nonsense called on your opponent would be the best way.

It is what it is. We did foul a lot but the game was definitely not called evenly. MSU was allowed to use their bodies much more when our guards drove the lane. Regardless, we had opportunities to win and couldn't make the shot that counted. Hope we can rebound against Auburn.

Come on man, some games are just called tighter than others, just like strike zones in baseball, it is up to you to adapt.
The refs were not out to get ya and in the bag for big bad MSU.

1) We don't foul much.
2) We attacked the rim and abused the press often. Almost all of our points were from our ball handlers driving against aggressive defenders.
3) We crashed the offensive boards.
4) Our PG protected the basketball, squared his shoulders and didn't let defenders get their foot forward.
All of these things contribute to the difference in fouls. Howland is a good coach and we were prepared, despite not having a good game shooting the ball. On top of that we are a transition offense, bad matchup for you guys.

Switch to Zone and Anderson did that late in the 2nd half with a 5 point lead. State then hit a couple threes to tie it up.
